Hello everyone. I don't want to scare anyone new to mirtazapine but I went to docs today for review as was due to increase to 30mg from 15mg. Asked how I felt, I replied, only being 2weeks in that I wasn't brilliant. Fair enough although I feel like shite. Anyway she asked how the side effects were doing. Told her I was like a zombie and also had awful abdominal pains and my back hurt when I cough. She examined me and said I had pancreaticis caused by mirtazapine. Apparently she said if she hadn't seen me today and symptom had gone on I would have been hospitalized and on a drip! Hmm my. ... She took me straight off mirtazapine and on to citalopram. Please be aware folks. Xx

WOW that’s scary. Thank goodness you went when you did.

I didn’t get on with them as they made me very angry so wasn’t on them long.

Good luck with the Citalopram 🤞

That's really awful. All the more reason to make sure your doctor monitors you when you go on a new medication.

Horrible and I’m a bit reluctant to start citalopram now although have taken 10mg this morning. Feel really nervous and on edge

Stick it out as best you can, but if it is really making you unbearably uncomfortable, then don't hesitate to call the doctor or other health professional.

Thank you Sallyskins. Changing meds constantly due to adverse reactions isn’t helping. Been miserable since last September and seem to be constantly going through the two week side effect stages and getting nowhere.Thinking perhaps no meds and just try good quality 5htp and vit b12
