One of my best friends has just been diagnosed with anxiety and depression this person is not depressed now which is great but I just want to know how I can support and be there for this person if they aren’t feeling right.i love this person to bits so I just want to be there and make sure they are happy.

That is really kind of you, and what a true friend is!

One of the most helpful things you can do is not get impatient, cross or be embarrassed by their behaviour. Be prepared to listen but don't insist they spill their guts. Make sure you keep in touch with them, giving them a phone call, text or email so they know that you are there for them.

Don't pressure them to do things that they don't really feel up to, but suggest things that might lift their spirits. Just knowing that they have your support is a great help to them.

Yeah I worry about this person a lot she hasn’t said anything is up but when there is she tells me and I just try to understand. The other day I thought I saw cuts on this persons wrists, I could be wrong but I wanted to bring it up but I don’t really think I could just spring it on them because it may upset them.its probably best to wait till it’s just us and when we have our deap convos.i just overthink and worry about this person they are so important to me

It's a difficult one, not knowing whether to raise that they might be self-harming. People can become very defensive if questioned about such things. But just knowing you are there for her should help her.
