Hi everyone, does anyone have days when their intrusive thoughts don't bother them, like your free from it. And then you have a day when its so bad?

Also i have one thought that i can get out of my head even when im having a good day, it will just pop up like its their to remind me.

Thanks x

Hi Cherbear, i used to get them constantly all day everyday it was awful, i started on citalopram and that really helped alot. Its so frustrating isnt it. Have you had any cbt therapy or medication? X

I do have days when OCD doesn't bother me as much, as well as ones where it doesn't let me alone. I have always been more prone to OCD when i am bored, and when I worked in really boring office jobs it got really bad. Keeping busy, but with plenty of variety, helps, as long as I don't overdo things and take breaks.

It does like to pop up and make a nuisance of itself!

Yes! It’s almost like my becoming aware that I’m having a good day/in a good place triggers my OCD to be even stronger. It’s so frustrating, almost like a self-punishing cycle for being happy.

I have excatly the same problem Rach459. I m so scared from this and panicing all the time, because I already thought that I have bipolar disorder. Wich I maybe have. I really don t know. But those thoughts are driving me insane for over a year now. And sometimes they really don t bother me at all. If I m really under some pressure or if I don t have sleep enough or too much it might go worst. And when I m feeling low I cannot handle those thoughts anymore. Thoughts are there more less everyday. I just somehow learn wigh CBT how to deal with it. But like I said when it gets worst I cannot function anymore

Hi Kiki888. My OCD has gotten so much better as i have been seeing a therapist. It is totally normal to have days when you struggle with it more especially when stressed or tired. I have learnt alot about my OCD intrusive thoughts from my lovely therapist. When you feel like you are ruminating over and over about the thought you need to do something that makes your mind focus on something else, for me i do jigsaw puzzles. It helps alot. Xxx
