I redirect my compulsivity into writing comedy novels. I can obsess over the wording and channel the energy into something useful.

Comedy is also good for redirecting negative depressing thoughts.

That's good - obsessions and compulsions like a vacuum so if you can do things to distract yourself. It's been proved that writing can be therapeutic anyway. Hope the comedy goes well - it's always gratifying if you can make someone laugh!
