Embrel- hope it makes me better

Hiya, Really hoping that you get the results you want, I am only on MTX as i am newly diagnosed, But my brother has been on this for a good few years now, and he finds that it works a lot better than any other drug he has been on...
Take Care XX
I have been on Enbrel for nearly 3 years and it seems to work very well. I also take MTX as well. Enbrel is a Medipen so you just pop onto your skin and press the plunger, count to 10 until it clicks back up and you're done. I use it on my stomach area as that is easier but I think others use front of thigh, front of upper arm or wherever it is comfortable. It does sting a little bit but you soon get used to that.
You will need to keep it in the fridge and if travelling, it needs to be in a cool bag but it will come with full instructions!
Hope you get on ok. LavendarLady x
i started enbrel 3 weeks ago .. i noticed a big difference within the first week .. ive now come down with a stinking cold " typical" .. so waiting for an answer to whether i should stop taking it or not ..
so apart from feeling pretty rough at the mo ,, my joints have never been better ..
good luck ..i hope it works well for you ..
Good luck. I hope it works for you very soon and you have great benefits. I am having a hard time deliberating as to take biologics. Need to talk to the rheumatology team as all I have been told is - you need to be on a biologic, go and think about it.
(Have thought of nothing else since last week to be truthful.) Anyhow. I hope to hear great news from you and it will encourage others and myself to take them if offered.

Enbrel has got me back on my feet. I walk with the ramblers, do Nordic Walking and, when the weather is bad go on the treadmill in the gym. Thank heaven's for the advancement in the treatment of RA. Enbrel is very expensive but worth every penny.... and aren't we fortunate that we don't have to pay for it.
Hope it works as well for you xx
i have been on enbrel since nov 2012 50mg once a week and yes i have felt some amount of improvement but it isnt exactly the miricle cure i was hopein for still get pains they just aint so intense i also managed to get the skin irritation to the site (red hot itchy lump) that without antihistamines last for 4-5 days so only get about 2 days without itchin!!! i am also on methotrexate 20mg sub cut injectio once a week i do both injections on the same day and get it done no probs with injection of methotrexate but did get side effects ie nausea tiredness and hairloss its just a case of weighin up the pros and cons and i felt that even reducein and not riddin me of my pains was worth a go!!!! hope that gives u somethin 2 think about xxx
