is there anyone getting salty taste in there mouth on mtx

Not MTX, but I have definitely had the "aluminium teeth" feeling on other drugs. A lot of drugs will alter your taste sensations, but sometimes it can be a more specific reaction to the combination of particular foods with your meds. Make notes about when it happens, and if its after particular types of foods.

it there all the time but just start few days ago but been on mtx for 6 weeks now but aye going up to 20mg on mon but doing my head in

I am on 25 mg of MTX and do sometimes get a salty taste. It seems to depend on what foods I have eaten as well. I also get a very dry mouth - Sjorgens syndrome. Had to leave off this week with that and the Enbrel as got a heavy cold and a hacking cough. LavendarLady

I think MTX might affect the way we react to certain foods? I am only on 15mg injectable but I did have a really foul taste for a while - especially the next day. But I did keep a diary of foods etc and pinned it down to pine nuts in the end. I never had this problem until RA though so maybe our taste buds get altered somehow along with all the other bizarre features of drugs, secondary conditions and the disease itself. Salty doesn't sound too unpleasant though? Tilda
