Sulfasalazine and strange taste in mouth

I've been on sulfasalazine for 5 1/2 weeks now. I woke up this morning with a strange taste in my mouth. The taste is not bitter nor sweet, it's kind of chalky. Is it normal to have a strange taste in your mouth?

I have only been on it for 2 weeks and mine is the same. Also flu like symptoms. Had to stop methotrexate due to side effects. I have been off it 6 weeks and still losing masses of hair. Has anyone else lost so much hair? When does it stop?? I am heartbroken. Lost about 50% now!!

I was on mtx for 15 weeks and my hair has thinned terribly. I am now on leflunomide so hoping no more hair loss.

I guess this taste is "normal" on sulfa

I've been on the stuff for about 2/3 years and I have a bad taste as if I've just eaten a dead rat lol but I do always have a good supply on mint tictacs in my bedside draw, in the car and in my pocket lol.

That seems to help a lot lol.

I have been taking It for 8 weeks now.. For the first few weeks I definately noticed what seemed to be a metallic taste... Thankfully it's eased now, or I'm not paying attention to it anymore!!
