Thank you ! Yes I sometimes feel like something is on my gums like just above my teeth x. Oh my gosh I am literally falling apart xx thanks for your help x
I get this but not from medication but from silent reflux I use to wake with it in the morning until medication sorted it out.
I too was on lamprozole but now on esomprazole and I have peptic ( like gavisgon but better) after meals and before bed. I have 2 pillows so sleeping on an incline.
Is your mouth worse when you wake up? If it is then a strong possibility it’s acid related x
Thanks I willHave to keep an eye on it as have noticed it recently but this evening cos it was peeling and sore I was bothered xx thanks chick for letting me know x
Mouth ulcers are a known side effect of methotrexate. You can purchase low dose hydrocortisone tablets that dissolve on the area reducing swelling and pain. I had a friend who got them so bad suddenly after years of using them. She had to switch to lefuonimide.
I had considerable problems with large ulcers and sore mouth (and D&V) while on methotrexate even after changing to injections. The dentist encouraged me to ask for an alternative and they cleared up (together with some other problems which I hadn't realised were associated). But it's a marvellous drug for so many people that I don't want to put you off, it just didn't suit me.
I used to put Orobase (a gel available over the counter) on the inside of my mouth and kept it all very clean with tooth cleaning and mouthwash to help with the pain.
Yes there not pleasant are they, I seem to get them on the inside of my lower lip, thankfully there not too big, but they do seem to be there regularly ☹ hope yours ease up.
I saw a post on here very similar months ago & someone commented that liquorice pellets worked, I was having terrible ulcers on my gums, lips, inside of mouth etc & thought I'd try them, first sign of an ulcer I have one & try to get it to stay over the ulcer, it worked 😀 but I don't think you can have liquorice if you're on prednisolone, the ones I bought were from amazon called barkleys, they've lasted me months & rarely get ulcers now x
