Move to improve!

Hi everyone!!

It has been too long, and I have felt ever so sorry for myself and have become something that resembles a hermit!!!!

Still, it is the last day of 2012 and I was referred by my consultant to join an excerise class to improve my 'low mood' and help with my pain. My first session was today, and with the rain pouring and wind blowing, the last thing I felt like doing was going out and doing excerise!! (I am sure some of you can relate to that!!) I was suffering this morning, but knew I had nothing to loose. I did what I could and was encouraged that I could do what I could and not feel pathetic!!!

Anyway, I really enjoyed it - I do like going to the gym, but this was so quiet, only 6 of us the group (unfortunately the rest of the group didn't seem to want to be there, or join in - their loss I say!) I had one to one chats to the physio team, who were lovely, and gave me advice and support. I have another 5 weeks of this and I am looking forward to them.

Does anyone go to a similar group? I wish it were something that could be available to everyone, and not just for 6 weeks - but I hope this something that can be extended!

Well I hope you all have a great evening, seeing the New Year in - I am having a curry with my husband and daughter - a quiet evening in!!

Happy New Year to you all and I hope that 2013 is kind to us all!!

Love Pen x :)

Hi Pen it sounds great that you enjoyed the class, I have recently joined a gym and do gym work but also pilates and zumba classes, I know what you mean about not wanting to go out in the cold windy wet weather as I feel the same but when I go I feel invigorated. Whilst the others in the classes do not seem to have any medical problems I have spoken with the trainers and they have adapted the work to fit my abilities. I used to get upset at first with what I couldn't do but have realised that this is how it is and I am doing my best to make the most of it. Hopefully things may improve as I lose more weight (18lb so far)

Keep going with the class and look for other opportunities which may be available. I only went to the Zumba class ( all included in gym membership) to give it a try as not sure if I would be able to do it but really enjoy it although I am limited, the time flies and I am becoming more able

happy new year and hope you find something else after your current classes finish

take care crisxx
