I wish adults could have pets as therapy as well as kids...still afraid of needles after too many years to count. But yes, pets and RA are a good match. keep blogging. Polly

Its so true Em - I don't like injecting myself much but don't really notice when I have blood tests or am given injections but my dog gets me through a lot of other stuff I struggle with. Only thing he's really unhelpful about is when I'm lying on my back trying to exercise my tummy muscles and he comes and starts licking my tummy or sticks his smelly toy on my head when I've got my hands behind me holding chair legs and my feet sticking up at right angles to my torso! I think you're blog is really good well done. Tilda xx

I totally understand! No, I don't have a needle phobia, but my cat has been with me through thick and thin. I live alone, and when I worked I never felt I was coming home to an empty house as I knew she would be waiting for me, and pleased to see me. She is a very cuddly cat, and her fur has soaked up many tears over the years!

I don't have a needle phobia, but I can't look and think about something else especially if it's a blood test. If I see my own blood I will be out for the count - but when I used to be a nurse I could deal with any amount of other people's blood and gore without any problems.

I did nearly faint when I had a steriod injection in the knee and fainted clean away when I recently had an ittrium injection - as soon as the needle went in and knew no more until it was all over. Woke up on oxygen and a BP machine couldn't find my BP for a while and kept timing out.

My hubby does have a phobia and wouldn't even come to the nuclear med dept with me - prefering instead to go the the hospital cafeteria to wait (where they sell chips with everything and sponge pudding and custard - hmmmm, method in his madness!). But he does work himself into a state whenever he needs a blood test done.

Great Blog!
