Iam in the work related group, and sometimes i cant even manage to get to the job centre to my work focused interview. My condition has changed alot, gone worse as to say. I got told iam in the wrong group. I should be in the support group as iam not able and my condition has changed.

Has anyone had this happen, and what happens do i have to have another medical? Help

I luckily got put in the support group. But as your condition is worsening or changing they tell you to contact them with this type of information. I would imagine although I don't know they would verify that with your Rheumy and maybe see you.

It's such a stress through especially when you are feeling poorly anyway isn't it.

Have you got a occy health or union rep to talk too and ask advice? Also thr NRAS helpline are great at that sort of advice.

Hope you have. Better day love A xx

Hi

When I was first assessed in June 2010 and was placed in the work group for 3 month and I attended my work focused interviews, my advisor also told me I should be in the support group and advised I shouldn't do anything which would cause me stress making my health worse. After the 3 month I was automatically reassessed and received a letter telling me I'd been moved into the support group.

I guess if you check the original letter from DWP to see how long they said you should be in the work group for and push for reassessment if it's due. It might also be worth phoning your local DWP office and ask to speak to the decision maker or a department manager and inform them of your worsening health and difficulty attending work focused interviews.

There's also the possibility of a late appeal, if you can show the reasons for delay in sending in the request for appeal DWP will look at your reasons and may approve your request, I'd advise going to the local CAB office and ask them for advice and support in dealing with this.

Anyone with a chronic health condition who's claiming contributions based ESA and placed in the WRAG is always advised to appeal because benefit stops after 1 year of claiming.

Hi I was in the wrag group, then had a medical at beginning of this year and heard nothing from,I continued to attend interviews ( in pain and with a struggle) my adviser said may times I should be in support group but we both just left it,then in August (7 months after medical) I get a letter saying I,am in the support group etc etc so I rang them and said how long have I been in it and how long for etc,I was told I had been in it since Jan 12 (date of medical) and that it would end Jan 13 I was so shocked but havn, the really had time to let it sink in no forms medicals etc then I will have to go though it all again, during that time I was given dla as well, good luck with yours hope you get what you deserve, gentle hugs xxx
