Gastroenteritis anyone?

I know with all the drugs and painkillers we take the old tummy takes a knocking. But the last 3 days have been hell with sickness and diarhoea. The worse thing is I think it was a dodgy hard boiled egg!

Poor you - wondered where you had got to! Get better and blog again soon - just a thought but that's probably why you got so low a few days ago - you could have been incubating a gastric virus or something?! Tilda x

Hi Julie, Eggs can be very funny if they are the slightest bit off. Poor you, do hope you are feeling better. Plenty of liquids, leave out the food for 48 hours to give your tummy time to heal and get plenty of rest. Agree with Tilda, this was probably coming on for a few days beforehand. May not have been the egg - it could have been something you'd eaten some days ago and it's taken its time to cause problems.!

My prime remedy is plain boiled rice with a little salt (to replace what you've lost). The theory is it absorbs whichever bug is causing the problem and passes it through, followed by a Brandy and Port just to finish it off!

If you have any rehydration salts, take those as well.

Hope you feel better as the day wears on. Love LavendarLadyxx

Thank you gals. I felt a bit better yesterday and actually ate some grilled chicken and rice. Still got me up early this morning, stomach gurgling and fizzing. Drink Nettle and Sweet fennel tea at the moment. Thanks for all the advice. He brandy and port sounds good Dottie :-)

Take care

Hello, hope your feeling better, like the brandy and port idea, even though i don't drink. It made me smile, which is missing today, so thanks for the smile even if it came at the expense of you having a poorly tummy. Boiled rice ugh the thought of it.

Get well soon.

Love Sylvia. xx
