Had call from doctor today have to come off MTX and sulphazalazine until further notice as my white cell count is down to 1.10. I feel not to bad and flare up had subsided before this, Im worried that being off the drugs will result in severe pain again? On the bright side does this mean I can have some wine when I go on holiday in 2 weeks if im still off the drugs?

Think I'd make an appointment to discuss it at length if I were u. You maybe will need somme good pain relief and depending were u r going on holiday being low on white cell may make u more prone to infection. I would get some good advice about the next few weeks! Hope its all ok soon Axx

I agree with Allanah, I was taken off metx with nothing in place and it after a month everything flared and it was another couple of months before i got something else. But on the positive side, the metx should stay in your system for awile so hopefully you will have a good holiday free of pain.

I have been off metho for 18 days following sideeffects. No flare up. I have just had surgery. Your immune system is low so you will be more prone to catch bugs from others.

Take some advice,from your specialist and plenty of pain relief and go and enjoy your holiday.

There is nothing like a holiday. To boost ones natural immunity.
