CALF & SHIN CRAMPS ?

Hiya everyone just woundering if anyone knows the reason for calf & shin cramps i seem to be getting them alot just latley ive been wearing support stocking wich do help but the cramps come on at random times anyone got any anwsers please ????

Try a sip of Tonic with quinnine. It's an old one, but does help.

sorry dont have an answer for you but i keep getting cramps in my shins and calfs too. it always seems to be in the night, it regularly wakes me. its only been the last couple of weeks since i started some new medication so im thinking mine may be related to that?

Hi Sue

You could avoid the cramps in the calf muscles by gently strectching them if you can. Stand facing a door and put your arms out touching the door. Now put one leg out behind you and other you bend slowly at which time you will feel a stretch in the calf muscle in the leg behind. Gently hold the stretch for a few seconds to start with and then repeat on the other leg.

This did help me and I hope that it helps you. You have to maintain this as a routine exercise otherwise the symptons will recur.

Sue, I used to get charley horses every morning, but after I started drinking more water, they have disappeared. Stretching does help too.

Hi get cramp in my feet lots of times during the night first one foot then other. Worse since the steroid injection. Would love to have a good nights sleep. I'm trying tonic water think it helps a bit. Worth a try anyway :-)

Potassium helps me when am having leg cramps. Hope it helps:)

See your Gp .I had them for a while and had some quinine tablets prescribed.. there isnt much quinine in tonic water x
