Rituximab infusion

I had my 2nd infusion of Rituximab on Feb 20 this yr. The RA Dr said it could take 6 weeks to notice anything. And so far there's been no change in the inflammation and RA flares I'm having. Was hoping to see a slight improvement.

Oh…..give it time…we must always remember every one reacts differently to medication but most important is to remember RA is a Marathon not a Sprint.

Always expect the best but don’t spend time watching for every little symptom to lessen. ….with Rituximab 3/6 months could pass before any improvements show up.

I noticed very little improvement for 4months after my first RTX infusion, and didn’t get the full effect until after the second set - since then it has been very effective . I hadn’t had such a good effect after any of the other usual meds over the 10 years since diagnosis

Good luck!

it’s 6 months since my infusion and I have been in a constant flare for that period of time, I am now waiting to see what they give me next.

hi MarshaM,

I would say hold tight as I didn’t either then realised it’s so subtle that I hadn't noticed until one day I was walking and didn’t have as much pain. My Consultant also says they take stock after 3 sets. I had my second set in January and although I am not painfree I am far better and my flares are much more manageable. Good luck and hold the faith I was told it’s a rolls Royce treatment 🤞🤞🤞😊
