So here are a couple more. I’ve been bad with RA since August, meds don’t seem to be helping. Yesterday I finally had a hospital appointment and they gave me a steroid with another next week and a future appointment to get me on methotrexate. Haven’t processed that yet, be prepared for more questions at a later date 😂. So my questions are…1. If I have IBS can it be kicked off by RA ? I’ve had the poops and cramps for about three weeks. I’ve also vomited once and then once again a week later 🤷🏻♀️. 2. My annoying cold sores seem to be elevated, pretty much one after another. Will they be more prevalent coz of the RA? Sorry to annoy people with these questions but I ask stuff at the hospital appointments and often get contrasting answers or none at all. Thanks in advance xx
All I seem to do on here is ask questions: So here are... - NRAS
All I seem to do on here is ask questions
Hello
Ive no doubt you’ll get more contrasting answers on here too.
We are all different in the intricacies of the ways RA affects us and there are many factors at play. We can only tell you of our own experiences.
I suffer mild IBS like symptoms after years of feeling compelled to change my diet. Is it connected to RA - not sure, but I feel it might be. I also suffer with sores in my mouth and nose but I think that is largely down the Sjogrens (secondary to RA).
For me, it has been a long learning process. Lots of research and adapting to different things that become annoying on top of the main symptoms of RA, and I have found my diet to be a big part of that. I don’t eat dairy and have cut sugar almost completely.
Hope thing improve for you.
You keep asking your questions until you get an answers darling. Sorry i can't help you with any answers darling. Sending hugs, xxxx
A condition called small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) can develop with RA, causing uncomfortable bloating and diarrhoea, in addition to abdominal pains and cramps.
I was really prone to cold sores and most of the meds especially the biologics say they can get worse but I can't say they have for me. Although I mostly get them inside my nose!?! So it's not awful.I use the compede patches on them if I do get one on my lip and that seems to work well.
We're all here to ask and occasionally answer questions so never be afraid to ask.
Cold sores usually occur when you're low in health or tired. Your inflammation levels must be high as your RA not yet under control. If you are like me, the cold sores will get less frequent as you improve. My RA is pretty much under control & a cold sore is now a rare thing. Thank goodness.
hi I have ibs and it does flare up a bit when I’m stressed or over do it.
Cold sores could be bad at the moment because of your stomach issues and lacking vitamins etc.
my husband suffers with cold sores, but he takes zinc and vitamin c, and very rarely gets them now. So you could try that
