Diclofinac Advice

Hello! I have RA, OA & PMR . Recently my doctor has given me diclofinac cream for hand pain. It gets so bad some days that I drop my coffee cup when I try to pick it up. I've done quite a lot of research on diclofinac so I know what some of the risks & side effects are. But if there is relief, even temporary, I'll deal with it all if side effects occur. Now my question. I have cats. Three to be exact, and I also do pet sitting. I know diclofinac is highly toxic. I've also read that the area should not be covered after application. With my cats & other assorted critters, what can I do? Will wearing a loose cotton fingerless glove on the affected hand keep the medication from working? Has anyone here experienced this & how did you "make it work"? Not petting my cats is not an option. Thank you! 😊
