My daughter's 40th birthday

Boy do i feel old. Saturday was my daughter's 40th birthday lunch with the family and friends. By the time we came home after 4.30pm i was shattered. She had a lovely day which is the most important thing. He partner brought her a little black Cockerpoo and she is adorable We got her some Harry potter and Winnie the Pooh stuff which she wanted.

I was shattered by the time we got home in the afternoon. I had my hair permed in the morning before we met her and the family and friends.

My ra is rearing its ugly head again. The weather doesn't help me as it is up and down all the time. Last week we had a heatwave today it is chilly out there this morning.

Have a lovely day everyone. Love you all. xxxxx

Belated birthday wishes to your lovely daughter. I’m sure the little dog will give endless pleasure to her and you all. 🩷 Wow, you had such a busy day. Sounds lovely though. I agree this weather is very odd and it can easily fluctuate from winter to summer temps. All seasons in one day, sometimes! So there are reasons for you to feel ouch from all your activity. Hope it calms down and you are recovering and feeling better and here’s to that. Have a relaxing rest of day. xx

So glad you were able to enjoy your daughter’s party Sylvi.

My RA is also playing up, probably because I’m a bit stressed atm and I’m sure the weather is making it worse. I think I’ll have to lie on the sofa and watch the tennis now (and fall asleep!). Xx

Glad to hear you’re partying again Sylvi even though you were shattered. You’ve just had a major operation. I bet you had a great time in spite of being really tired. It’s doing that sort of thing that makes you feel human again. Rest up a bit for a while.

This weather!*#§* what can you say. If you’re like me the cold messes mevup and so does the heat and leaping fr9m one extreme to the other really doesn’t help either.

Gosh when you think your baby is 40🎈🎉🍰 it makes you realise how time is wearing on doesn’t it. Look after yourself 😊

I am so pleased you had such a wonderful day and your daughter and her prezzies excited me...I love cockerpoo's for the cheerfulness they bring. Yes being shattered after a party or event these days are inevitable but the memories are worth it. Enjoy the tennis . Gentle hugs🤽‍♀️

Glad you managed to have a lovely birthday celebration with your daughter, despite the aftermath of being shattered. Wow! What a lovely birthday gift she received from her hubby 🐶🐶🐶. I have a Maltipoo and he is just the funniest and gorgeous boy.

Life will chronic illness is a real swings and roundabouts affair! You enjoy doing something nice but pay for it later! Make sure you rest to allow your body to heal, ready for the next lovely day.

It's so lovely to get out and socialise with family and friends isn't it? I'm so glad you had a good time even if you paid for it. Yes, time does fly. I look in the mirror and my Ma looks back. Quite spooky.

hi Sylvi, your daughter will enjoy her cockapoo, however they can be quite a handful, I know because I have two lively poodles , I thoroughly enjoy my poodles, they are my life , my son and daughter live 95 miles away. Glad you are getting out and about Sylvi. Enjoy. xxx

I’m laughing here Sylvi! My son, the eldest was 40 in April, I really felt old then and I’ve been trying to forget it! I’m joking really, I remember when he was a baby but it doesn’t seem so very long ago, it’s flashed past.

I’m so glad you were able to enjoy your daughter’s birthday, happy birthday to your daughter. So sorry your ra has kicked in again. Rest well and get back to your normal self soon. Take care Sylvi x

I’m so pleased you’re making a good recovery. You’re not the only one feeling old. My younger son was 50 on July 7th so I feel ancient. It’s good you were able to celebrate with your daughter for her 40th birthday and how lovely that she has a cockerpoo. We have the largest Labradoodle but sadly he’s getting old and has lost his bounce - rather like me.

Keep improving Sylvi. It’s been a long journey for you. You are our shining light. I wish I had some of your ‘get up and go’.

My last appointment with the the rheumatology nurse ended up in disaster and another (7th) referral to a Pain Clinic. I had a bad reaction to Etanercept so on no medication now and without an appointment until October to see my new consultant. She wouldn’t even give me a steroid jab, saying that even if my hands were swollen and painful, they weren’t red. I know the steroids don’t last long but at least they give me quality of life so I might be able to go out for lunch or have my hair done.

I feel very let down at the moment. Nic xx

PS I politely declined yet another Pain Clinic referral.

Thank you for your lovely words darling. I still get very tired and breathless, but i am making good progress. Having my daughter reach 50yrs old make me feel really ancient. LOL. xxxxx
