In hospital with bleeding, could it be tuxizulimab?

I started tuxizulimab 4 weeks ago, jab on Tuesday with pen. Every week have noticed diarrhoea but not really bad until 3 days ago on Friday. Loads of blood and diarrhoea for nearly 48hrs every hour or two (all Friday night, all day Saturday and all Saturday night). When I a stopped eating then it was just thick clear mucus mixed with blood. Today finally got strength to goto A&E. After 8 hours and lots of tests they concluded quite severe bleeding and swelling of my upper colon. I'm now on drips, in bed under observation until they decide on surgery or not. Consultant has said it could be arthritis caused or the drug. Anyone on here had similar with this drug or RA ? Thanks in advance and love to all fellow suffers.

Some biologics can cause diverticulitis

I have a family blighted by gut problems. Last year I was diagnosed with Diverticulitis, unspecified colitis and pancreatitis. I have long term RA. Is there a connection? I know that RA attacks body parts. I'm on Benipali and my RA is now in remission. I wish you a speedy recovery .

That sounds awful and frightening. I had a severe episode of ? Colitis when on MX - (which had always caused occasional abdominal pain ) and after Etaneracept was added

Both stopped, now on Rituximab

oh that sounds scarey. I am supposed to be changing to the infusion in a few weeks. At least by injection it should clear your system quicker. Speedy recovery

I think it could be the RA as I have just come out of hospital with exactly the same thing but I had severe stomach pains as well, they have said it's colitis and have to wait for the inflammation to calm down before I can have a colonoscopy to see if it's ulcerative colitis and that may be down to the RA. I am waiting to start biologics and that's one of the treatments for colitis. I am also getting over covid as well so don't know if that's made things worse.

I'm still in hospital. I have now had colonoscopy and they have "found something". Now going to be another 3 days before the samples taken can be analysed. RA is nasty. If the disease doesn't get you it seems the meds can.

I didn't want to say too much but you are lucky because I had covid they kept me in And E for 35 hours then discharged me with no after care and now waiting for another colonoscopy at a different hospital. Keep your hopes up though because I already had two large growths in my colon removed and they will be keeping a constant eye on you. It sounds like you are in a good hospital which is very reassuring. Hope you get sorted out soon.

I don't know but wish you a speedy recovery. I've had an operation and this week the stents come out I can't wait and I think I'm lucky as the NHS didn't write me off just yet anyway. Blood is scary my kidneys are bleeding and I had to photo the loo pan. If anyone nicks my phone they will get a nasty shock. Not photo's of birds and flowers but toilets across the country. lol Honestly get well soon and I can now prove my blood is linked to a medication so it'll get yellow carded. I've kept a record over 3 years but only got the opportunity to prove it as had to have something else done and they said stents go in anyway. The loss isn't severe but it might help the scientists find out another risk factor.
