I'm in surgery tomorrow for carpel tunnel and elbow relief (neck later then other side) I'm wondering what effect the surgery will have on the pain from RA? A bit late but hey ho!

All I can say is that I have had carpal tunnel surgery on right wrist 3 months ago and it has totally relieved the symptoms and is back to normal. Surgery seemed to have no impact on general ra symptoms. My left wrist is getting done in 2 weeks. I hope yours goes as well!

I had a carpal tunnel decompression necessitated by damaged nerves in my neck about a year ago & it seems to have had no effect at all on my RA.

Usually my RA is well controlled after more than 20.years…..so at least you should get relief in the immediate area.

Everything did go well, a very professional and attentive team. The nerve block took 1 1/4 hours to work but all good. At the moment I am pain free from RA just the wound site stinging a touch. No doubt a whisky later on will aid recovery!
