New Here: Hi everyone and Merry Christmas! I am new to... - NRAS
New Here
Hello and welcome. Have you been diagnosed with RA/RD.xxxx
Welcome to the communiy that no-one WANTS to join - but it's very useful if you HAVE to join. How long have you been on methotrexate? Have you any problems or is it contolling things?
Don't be put off by the number of people posting with problems - we tend not to post when things are going well, just when things are not!
Thank you! I have been on Methotrexate for almost 2 months.
My hands are the worst
I want to get out of it if there is an option. I heard about herbal medications.
Be cautious about adding herbal preparations as they may affect your current medication and they are not standardised.
I take LLV doterra essential oil supplements and have done since 2017. I showed the ingredients to my consultant who is very open to alternative therapies and likes that I self-care. I am on anti-TNF therapy and prednisolone and she was happy for me to take them. I haven't had a flare-up since doing so and wouldn't stop them now. I am monitored closely, and if there are any issues with my supplements I would alter them accordingly. If you have some alternative remedies that you'd like to try, check with your rheumatologist first and see what they say. It's worth asking.

Sorry you have been diagnosed. It is a lot to take in at first. If you feel after several months on Methotrexate tabs that you are not improving maybe you could try Metojet pen it is injection pen that bypasses stomach. Many people find it helps control nausea symptons. Many of us have tried various meds before we found something that works for us.I hope you will improve soon.
