It is up on You Tube now.
If you haven’t already ,do please try to watch it. She did a wonderful job representing all us Cinderellas with our RA!

Wendy did very well.
(Hadn’t realised it was on GB news, so had to get my bargepole out to look at it.)
Haha. I decided the message was more important than the platform 😂
Thanks HKG for raising the profile of RA and for telling your story that resonates so strongly for me. I’d had a couple of undiagnosed episodes (painful shoulders) that came and went within a few weeks of each other. GP thought frozen shoulder and/or torn bicep .. but when it happened again (swollen hands) suggested more tests. Then 3 months later I went on holiday to the Canary Islands for just a week, I walked on the plane as usual but after one week I hobbled off the plane using two walking sticks that I’d had to buy whilst there because I was struggling to walk. So fast, very scary and no family history of the disease… had never heard of RA but was experiencing pain in most joints of my body and struggling with day to day functions. It took 18 months to get under control and be pain free but I’ve not experienced a flare for over 2 years now and life is good. Thanks for sharing your story 🥰 👍
It’s scary isn’t it how fast it can happen. It was funny in a way, as a friend came to Portugal for one of the weeks I was away. I found it was becoming harder and harder to get up from the sofa so she brought in all the cushions from the outdoor sofa, stacked them up so it was much higher 😂😂
If someone had said rheumatoid arthritis to me before having it, I would not have had a clue and would probably have thought it was a dodgy knee or something too.
I’m just coming out of an 18 month flare - probably caused by stress but who knows. I’m pleased you’re in a good place now 🎊
I believe stress was the initial trigger for my RA and although I’ve always worked hard/long hours and enjoyed it. I took the opportunity to retire early at 59 (2 years ago) and focus on managing my RA. Best decision I could have made. Hope your flare stays gone 🤞🥰
Same here! I'd worked 7 day weeks and 15 hour days for 6 years to get my company off the ground. Portugal was my first time off (well, not off as we're an online biz and the villa had internet as I had to work!). The Doc thought my body thought 'well this is different' and boom! Triggered! And there's no going back then unfortunately.
18 months ago, my manager started messing around - she was manipulative and duplicitous. Infact, she's in litigation now for stealing our client list and setting up as a competitor whilst an employee. Our finances were absolutely decimated and I faced losing everything. It's taken all this time to stabilise so it doesn't surprise me that the RA put in a larger appearance.
I'm still incredibly busy but I have a team of employees now so all that work was worth it - kind of. So I don't do the day-to-day operations any more. Hence why I can go on telly, haha. I now do the bits I love - the marketing and promotion so that makes me happy.
Excellent. You presented really well. I’m sorry you’ve been in a flare for so long, but glad it’s settling. I guess, in a way, the flare does show people how rotten RA can be.
I really enjoy GB News…as you say they don’t mince words & they really stood up to the parts of the media that are trying to close them down…& had the courage to name the ringleaders.
Watched it - great to see such positivity. Now we need to push it a bit for those people who have no idea what it is except "my granny had it in her little finger"
would not watch anything to do with GB news !
You do realise that without GB News starting the Don’t Kill Cash campaign we could be well on the way to having to live completely cash free?
Do you really want that? Are you you so computer literate you can do everything on line? I hazard a guess most people on NRAS are not, & those that are don’t want to lose cash in their purses.
In fact…have you ever watched GB News on TV, or listened to it on the radio?
Don’t dismiss it just because it’s new…& free to watch.
I did watch it to see what type of news it was portraying. It was awful! Racist, untruths, presenters are just terrible. Who would give a window to Richard Tice, Nadine Dorris, the list goes on. It wants to go back to the gutter where it belongs.
Sadly Pam176….you were watching the wrong channel…both Nadine Dorries & Richard Tice are on TALK TV……ch 237 on Freeview.
GB News is on Ch 236.
Have a look some time…of course it is different from the BBC, thank goodness…but it’s a good watch!
No one is forcing you to. At least I'm doing something and it's the message and not the platform that's important. Not sure why you felt it was necessary to comment unless it was to make you feel superior.
The platform is very important to me! I do not feel superior! Obviously you do. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Suggest you go away and promote yourself, what an awful shower of self opinionated people on what is supposedly a group to help people.
It is unfortunate,……but Pam your stated opinion was based on incorrect information…..as I just explained to you…..you have not been watching GBNews which gave Rheumatoid Arthritis all this free publicity…..& lots of exposure on YouTube ……it is not responsible for everything you dislike.
Don’t you think if only one person makes a donation to NRAS after watching the video, it will prove as helpful as most members who have replied seem to think?
Sorry about that I got confused with the channels. GB news is even worse. Lee Anderson, Nigel Farage, Dan the sex pest, Lawrence Fox, Rees Mogg and the list goes on. Oh my word that lineup is quite dangerous viewing.
No …that is not the case…that is just your opinion.
The people who run GBNews obviously have a heart, & gave rheumatoid arthritis a chance to get some free publicity, that many of us might benefit from one day.
I guess you wouldn’t turn down much needed treatment you were offered because it was available from this publicity would you?
How are your comments helping people?
Thought not.
I am very surprised that any platform would use this station to get publicity. Like I said earlier what awful self opinionated people.
No we are just realists in very hard economic climate ……all medical charities need financial help & publicity right now…& GBNews helped us…& we are duly grateful.
This awful self opinionated person was the only one that managed to step up and to get a message out. I have no idea what your problem is. You don't have to watch it. No one's making you. Your comments are uncalled for and offensive. All you're attempting to do is denigrate someone else. Not cool. Not kind
again, how are your comments helping people? I don’t see you out there spreading the word about RA. If you read Wendy’s answers you’ll see no one else was interested and it’s already been pointed out to you that you’re talking about the wrong TV channel yet you still keep on with your upsetting comments. Enough.
excellent, you’ve portrayed it very well. I’m sure NRAS will be very proud of you. Well done 👏🏻🤗
just watched this. Well done Wendy
Thank you. I thought this was very good. Well done to GB News for highlighting it. 😊
Thank you! We tried local BBC news and newspapers, but they weren't doing anything for RA Awareness week. But this is just the start!
I found this youtube.com/watch?v=2Yw_Hz_... alternative if you use facebook look for Wendy Norman on there. Listening to her experience took me back to my early days of diagnosis. Love how positive Wendy is. 😊
Just caught up and it’s great. Well done Happy xxxx
Well done on your interview Wendy.Any exposure on this dreadful illness is surely a good thing.
