Wishing you all the best on your birthday Kags. π
Happy Birthday Kags, have a wonderful day!ππ₯πΎ x
Happy birthday to you xxx
Thank you Allanah. Very kind of you. Hope you're OK xx
Not good!!! Awful after covid and flu jab yesterday. Plus severe knee and rib pain over liver area too, knee replacement 29th so off all ra meds ...
Oh dear! Sorry - that all sounds a bit rubbish. βΉ Hope the vaccine effects wear off quickly. I'm waiting for op too, so have to stop biologic soon. My broken femur from January is non-union, so got to start again - grrr. Got to have my hip replacement revised this time and have a much longer stem fitted to cover the fracture. Only had the cup revised 5 years ago. It's all bloody frustrating isn't it? Hope the replacement goes well. I had my knees replaced in 2005 and they're still absolutely fine. Good luck xx
Happy Birthday Kags, hope you have had a good day and been spoilt by hubby! Many happy returns xx
Aah, thank you MM. Just had a takeaway delivered as a birthday treat - very nice. Hope you are ok. X
Hello Karen
I'm late with my Birthday Wishes - only just discovered it was your birthday - but I had to make up for it by sending this belated post. Very many happy returns, and I hope you had a goodly number of treats! And your lovely cats joined in the celebrations - cats never like to be missed out, do they?
Let's hope that during the coming year things improve for you.
I'm so sorry for the delay, but my wishes are no less warm for all that.
love, Marian x
Hi Marian
Thank you -, that's so very kind of you. Absolutely no need for any apologies! I had a nice, peaceful day thanks. Yes, you were right, the cats hadto join in! I had a couple of little gifts in present bags, and as I was looking at them while sitting in bed they climbed all over me (with no respect whatsoever), and then proceeded to scrabble at the bags, stand on them and squash them and finally, see if they could get inside (they couldn't)!! Who knew gift bags could be so exciting!π Still, it was nice watching - always makes me smile.
Thanks for your good wishes too. I'm definitely hoping for improvement. I've now been told today that my surgery date should be 23rd November, so just trying to get through to that! Have my second physio appt tomorrow and was just about to lie on my bed to do my exercises and yes, you guessed, Sonny the cat beat me and is now lying exactly where I need to be -pretending I'm not here. The other one (Arthur), is riding down the hall on an office chair (don't ask - he loves it)!!
I do hope you are as well as possible.
Love Karen xx
Oh Iβm so glad youβve got a date for your op. So near yet so far xx
Isn't it? I phoned the waiting list lady today after the Rheumatologist advised me to keep pestering! She was very helpful and said that's when she had provisionally pencilled me in, and hopefully it will be confirmed next week. Here's hoping!π€π€π€
Hope you are ok today xx
Hello, Karen. I was very pleased to hear that all is set for your op in November - what a protracted business it has been . But you do sound buoyed up that something is happening - it's the struggle one has to go through to get attention even for someone like you with so many problems.
Glad to hear your lovely cats enjoy the life of Riley! My poor Bertie has still not entirely recovered from his bout of illness earlier this year. He's better physically, but still seems worried about things. He hasn't taken up his old habits again; just lies in the hall close to the cat flap. He ignores all his cosy blankets scattered about on the chairs, and never comes on my comfortable NHS bed! Not my dear old Bertie at all. He is always hungry and never stops eating - as if he is worried that he might be abandoned.
I'm probably working myself up for nothing - but that spell in the Vet's "bed and breakfast" has had an extraordinary effect. Somebody once said that cats don't remember anything for more than a few days. Well, I wonder about that.
As for me, I've had my third covid vax and my flu jab is next Tuesday. I still haven't heard about a replacement for my retired rheumatologist - my consultations, by telephone, are with one of the rheumatology nurses. On the whole, I'm not too bad; but still rather limited as far as outings are concerned as my husband has yet to hear from the DVLA about a new eye test - necessary before his licence is renewed - or not!
I hope the physio goes well; I'm a bit lax with my exercises - but I should pay more attention, as my husband is currently putting up a new stair rail so that I can attempt the climb. I haven't been upstairs since August 2019. I can hardly believe so much time has passed.
I have a lovely picture in my mind of Arthur rolling down the hall on the office chair! Did you ever see that video of a cat rolling around on one of those robot floor cleaners?
Do take care, Karen, I shall be thinking of you as you head for Nov 23rd.
love, Marian x
Sorry a bit late, I've been laid up but I do hope you had a purrfect birthday Karen, you so deserve a lovely day after such a challenging year. Sending you lots of love and a belated birthday hug xxx
Aah, thank you B. I'm so sorry you've been laid up again.. Really, no need to apologise. I had a nice quiet day thanks - which is all I could cope with atm!π I've been planning to get back to you and will do in next few days. At hospital atm. Been here since 11am! Had physio appt, now I'm waiting to try and get blood test done prior to bone strengthening infusion on Monday (long, boring, annoying story)!! Hoping I'm not here too much longer. Hope you feel a bit better soon xxxx
Hope you can get your blood test sorted and escape back home. You are certainly clocking up the hospital loyalty points. Hope all goes well on Monday, I'm pleased you are finally getting your bone infusion. Take care lovely lady xx
Thank you. Finally got home just before 4pm. Shattered now!! Must build up some stamina- haha!! Still not 100% certain I'll get the treatment Monday π€―π€
Apparently, now depends on them getting blood results in time to be able to get drugs from pharmacy for Monday morning ...... ...... have to phone Monday morning now to check!! Honestly, makes you want to scream sometimes, doesn't it?! ππxxxx

Couldn't have said it better myself!!! Xx
