Well, I’m being interviewed on Friday for Rheumatoid Arthritis awareness week.
Crew are coming to my house to record the interview and we are talking about running a business with RA and the challenges and opportunities it brings.
It’s going to be an upbeat and positive interview focusing on ability rather than disability and I’m really thrilled to be able to have the opportunity to do this. I run two businesses and I coach people with AI disease business strategy and marketing so it’s a great opportunity for me personally of course, but also a fantastic opportunity to show that yes, things may be different, but life is still good.
I’ll share a link when I have one. This is for GB News (?). Apparently Eammon Holmes new home.

I'm a bit nervous, but probably more excited as I want to share what RA can be like and hopefully inspire others with it, particularly newly diagnosed, that there is a great future ahead still. It's so easy to become despondent I think.
Don't know when it will air. Only found out 4pm yesterday.
excellent news, it’s good to see positive spins being put on these conditions. Learning to live with it, and you controlling it, rather than letting it control you, is half the battle 👍
100%! I think diagnosis is a shock. But then if you can get your head straight you can take it on and adjust what you do if needs be. The mindset is the tough bit and I will talk about that I had counselling, which is sometimes what it takes.
I’ll ask them tomorrow where it will be shown. I do have a PR lady who said yesterday they’ll probably break up the interview and show snippets through different programmes. Who knows! All new to me
I’m sure you’ll look fabulous and I love your can do attitude. If you’ve got the guts to do it and you run your own business plus you’ve got RA you’ll be fine. Remember - deep breaths,
Oh , I don’t know you might be so scintillating that you become their ‘go to’ person and you get rushed off your feet and start a whole new career in TV 😉
aww, thank you so much. I’m hoping it will lead to more awareness spots as we are all bored with people assuming it’s Osteo I think. It also supports my business as I want to help anyone with AI issues fulfil their potential if they want to run a business. Running a cafe may not be ideal, but I’ve run a business for 14 years now and if I can, then anyone can. Just need to pace things a bit.
I think that's great and I will try to watch, its good to be positive and not to let this chronic disease define us and change our personality. Well done running a business. The only thing I will say don't let interviewers get wrong impression that RA is something and nothing, and can be fixed quickly. I've come across this because I'm a bright and breezy person. Some of us had to give up work as a lot of damage was done before getting on the right meds and with the right Consultants. But otherwise good luck to you.
I'm unlikely to put any negative spin on it and will just say it as it is. I have been in a wheelchair with it, but, my attitude is never 'why me ' and more 'why not me'. I'll probably talk quite a bit about mindset. Depends on how long I have I guess 🙂
