Amgevita Update plus daft question

This Amgevita has really helped me and to date have had no real bad side effects after four injections. In fact all my little niggles around the body have eased so if anyone gets offered it / don’t be afraid like I was- take it and hopefully it will work and keep working

My only niggle now is that in the recent heat wave I had a recurrence of a patch of vascular is on my ankle around the sock line.

I’ve got a weeks course of prednisone 5mg. 6 a day.

Do I take the six at once? I think that’s how it’s take unless otherwise stipulated.?

Tnx all

Hi TheBoys, We have found the following advice on the NHS website in regards to taking your dose:

'Unless your doctor or pharmacist gives you different instructions, it's best to take prednisolone as a single dose once a day, with breakfast. For example, if your dose is 40mg daily, your doctor may tell you to take 8 tablets (8 x 5mg) all at the same time. Take prednisolone with breakfast so it does not upset your stomach. Taking prednisolone in the morning also means it's less likely to affect your sleep.'

Hope this has helped. Kind regards, Rosie @ NRAS

Please make sure you have also been prescribed with a stomach protector such as Lansoprazole and the prednisolone are coated tablets (which are more expensive so GP's will in the first instance tend to prescribe uncoated which I found intolerable and they made me very sick). Hope this makes sense and good luck
