Hi everyone

Quik question I take 40mg Amgevita (adalimumab) for RA and now getting small scalp blisters for some reason. Has anyone out there had this problem with Amgevita 40 mg (adalimumab)?

It’s probably a good idea to let your Rheumy team know.

That didn’t happen to me when I was on Adalimumab but I didn’t take it for long as it wasn’t effective for me.

Have you been sitting out in the sun a lot somewhere hot?

could it be something else as you’ve been taking Amgevita for over a year, have you had chickenpox or as already asked, been out in the sun? I’d speak to/show your GP as that sounds nasty and it should be checked out if it’s all over your scalp. I hope you get treatment quickly.

I have the same! Still have the scalp issues, even though they've moved me into rituximab recently. Before I mention anything else I would tell your rheumy as Lolabridge says. I'm fairly sure mine doesn't relate to the sun, although it certainly doesn't help the itchiness. I mentioned the scalp issues to my rheumy. They didn't directly comment on it, and said it's difficult to definitively say whether it's side effect or symptom. 🤷🏽‍♀️ You may receive a different response... I've been off Amgevita since this May as it wasn't effective for me, but as I understand it, if this is a side effect, you can experience them for a while after, so I'm hoping it'll getting better/or go in the next month or so! 🤞

I stay out of the sun and never had chicken pox but thanks for the replies. I will call the GP see what happens.

Thank you again.

Update: I discovered its scalp acne I have. Its a side effect from Amgevita / adalimumab biologics injections I take for my RA.

After using the Capsal shampoo and Betacap scalp application for over a month..no joy.

I have just started to use Daktacort cream on the little lumps and this morning the swelling from the pimples have went down so fingers crossed.
