2nd rheumy video appt & update re nodules.

Hi everyone hope you are all well enough to enjoy the lovely weather u are having at the minute

Had my 2nd rheumy video consult earlie, rheumy say we,re going in right direction & increasing mtx by 5mg & folic 6 dys per week. Bloods all good, ra gone right down. I told him about nodules he says they are osteo arthritis didnt want to look. Showed me xray of right hand, thumb & couple fingers bone on bone, I didnt know what I was looking at to be honest so just said I expected oa I,m nearly 70 it just means double pain then, he gave a laugh. See you again in 6mths & I was out the door. Didnt even mention steroids??? I,m reducing 5mg down to 2.5mg just 6 wks agoQuite bewildered really. Ok so what about my left hand which he didnt show me xrays of (where the old & new nodules are) & I didnt think to ask till I was outside. Werr have I got ra then? Didnt look at my hands or anywhere else for that matter. He wanted to know how I was tolerating mtx, I told him very nauseous & tired & about flare I had couple of wks ago he just said how long did it last for, 4 dys I said.

Going to get 2nd opinion when I get back over there. got a few things to still to sort out then uk here I come

Rather dismissive re the rheumy lack of comment re your steroids reduction. 🤷‍♀️ Glad your bloods are good and the increase in Mtx is helping.

G/morning N/K yes I did walk out feeling elated until I realised what hadn,t been said. But quickly thought no matter I,m still going to get appt with rheumy f/f in UK & I know rheumy here said 2,5 preds till July when he was going to see me next anyway so I,ll stay with that regime. It all just confirms I,m making the right decision

My Rheumy checks my hands everytime I see her. He doesn't seem a very good consultant. Hope you get on better in the UK. X

I often get more insight from the specialist nurse. The consultants diagnose, and prescribe whereas the specialist nurse sdeal with your care plan. I've found them invaluable in coping with my RD.

Hi Happy I,m not in uk & it,s a staff nurse who I dont have much confidence in but I,m relocating back to uk shortly
