Leflunomide and Shingrix vaccine (non live shingles vaccine)

Hello,

Has anyone on Leflunomide (Arava) had the shingrix vaccine and if so, did they have to stop the leflunomide at all before and after?

Interested to hear how many different bits of advice are out there from Rheumatologists.

Mine says stop it for five days before and after which seems ridiculous to me considering how long Leflunomide stays in your body for.

I could not get vaccine as was too young. A flat rule under 70 no vaccine unless a letter from RA consultant.

Be warned it really hurts. And then GP said only about 75% effective so keep Aciclovir in the cupboard too. I had Shingles so bad a couple of years ago and I was admitted to hospital so even though I was still under 70 I still could not qualify. Madness. X
