Hi all!

How long do I need to wait after my 6th Covid vaccine (Dec 22) to have my 7th?

Invitations are sent at 6 months but you can have it from 3 months after the last one.

joined this forum when I was first diagnosed with my autoimmune disease 10 plus years ago. I suffer from Spondyloarthropathy Enthesitis ! I have had 8 rotator cuff surgeries and 2 hip surgeries from the breakdown of the tendons. I live in the US but found this forum very helpful. I got Covid in June 2020 before vaccines and was scared to death because I have a lot of scar tissue on my lungs and Covid was so unknown then. I treated it with lots of Vitamin C, D , Zinc, magnesium and Quercertin and was over it in 10days with bad headache, cough, loss of taste and severe fatigue. I tested regularly for over a year and a half and had natural antibodies. I Got the second Covid about three months after natural antibodies were gone. It was a mild case of Covid in April 2022. Still taking the same vitamins. Got it a third time in Jan 2023. Very sore throat, headache and fatigue again. The fatigue is very real!!! I did take the Antivirals meds with the last 2 COVID’s. My friends that suffer from Autoimmune diseases that got the vaccines had such severe flare ups of their auto immune symptoms that they stopped after the first or second vaccine. They still got Covid . I am just amazed that in your country you guys are on vaccine 6 or 7. Did you have any reactions to the vaccines? ,Did you still get Covid? My friend had a little patch of psoriasis on the back of her neck, her whole life, and after one vaccine her body was sadly covered in it. My daughter with a PHD in epidemiology decided to have the vaccines, had two and a booster and suffers from huge debilitating hives that she never had before. My doctor said he lost 2 patients in the beginning days of Covid because they just didn’t know how to treat it. I’m curious , What has been your experience from Covid or from the vaccines if any?

I have just had my 7th vaccine, other than mild flares I’ve been fine. I have avoided covid so far. That’s despite my hubby having it in September last year. He was quite poorly, with high fever and bad sweats, and I was changing his bed daily, yet never succumbed. I have AS and fusion in several areas including my ribs. I have no chest expansion, Atelectasis and scar tissue of the lungs, and struggle with any chest infection. I also have severe adrenal insufficiency where any infection puts me at risk of an adrenal crisis. So I’m happy to keep being topped up with the vaccine. I’m on 5 immunosuppressants plus string steroid inhalers for my asthma. The current plan is for us to also receive a vaccine again in the Autumn before it starts increasing in the winter.

the vaccines were never said to stop you getting covid, they are just given to make it a milder illness if you do catch it. The first made me unwell for a couple of days the rest no reaction. Everyone has differing reactions to everything.

Hi Jojom, I am still happy to have my covid jabs when they are offered. I know a number of people who had covid early on and are still suffering from Long covid (including an A&E consultant and a physiotherapist). Nobody I know who has been vaccinated has had such long-term issues. I have had no discernible problems with any of the vaccinations, other than a sore arm. I haven't tested positive for covid at all despite the fact that, since my first jab, I have been in close contact several times with people who have tested positive a few hours later, and I haven't avoided crowded places since my first jab. I was ill over christmas and struggled to get over it, but tested negative for covid. Maybe I am just lucky, or maybe the vaccinations have helped. Who knows?

I do know one lady who had blood clots recently, but she already had a very complex medical history and the clots were several months after her last jab, so no reason to suspect the jab caused the clots. My niece had a history of blood clots BEFORE her jabs and did not suffer clots even after her Astrazenica jab. A friend with a history of several DVTs also didn't get clots after the jabs. So difficult to judge cause and effect. And of course, covid itself also causes different problems for different people.

I think, at this stage, it is down to personal risk assessment. I seem to take much longer to clear infections since I started mtx and until recently I wasn't eligible for antivirals if I catch covid. So, since I haven't experienced any worrying side effects from the jabs, I will continue to accept vaccinations. If I were 25 and with no known health issues, then maybe I would be more hesitant.

what brand vaccine did you get and is the same one for everyone over there?

The first 2 were Astra Zenica, then I have had 2 original Pfizer and 2 Pfizer/biontech covalent. The vaccines were to a certain extent dependent on local availability, especially at first. So initially Pfizer or Astrazenica. Then it was decided not to use AstraZenica for younger people. At some point Moderna was also used (but I'm not sure whether that was to do with availability or age or both). For the latest spring booster, which was only offered to the over 75s and those with immunodeficiency it depended on age. Over 75s had a new one, the rest of us the bivalent.

i’ve had 5 vaccines, with no side effects or after effects whatsoever. (First one had a red arm, but hardly significant!). Have not caught covid and unlike others I didn’t shield (there was so such thing here) but have just been careful.

I had vaccine number 6 early October, so was able to have my 7th early April when they opened bookings. You can book after 3 months if need be, you don’t have to wait for your invite.

Thankfully in uk the covid vaccine is being limit to over 75s and only people with certain health issues.So if you don't fit into anyone those categories you don't need it.

If you are concerned about covid new research has shown taking CBD oil is not only effective at protecting you from catching a range of viruses including covid but helps reduce symptoms as well.

Unlike the vaccine it also reduces the risk of spreading covid.
