Does anyone know if you have the Pfizer vaccine for spring booster if you are immunosuppressed?

As far as I’ve seen online on the NHS and Gov pages all three main vaccines being offered are Pfizer, Moderna or the new Sanofi. Is it this you are thinking of as the Gov pages say Sanofi is to be used for over 75s who may not respond so well re producing antibodies to a vaccine, but I didn’t see any mention of the immunosuppressed being told to use it. I don’t think we’ll be offered a choice unless you go to a very large major vaccine centre where they may be using two vaccines. I’d have any of those three.

I had my 7th last week and it was the Pfizer one.

I’ve had 6 Phizer and never been given a choice. Next one due on Thursday .

I had Pfizer today. I was told it was a variation on the original formula!

I think I read somewhere that if it's the Pfizer we get offered (not sure we will get a choice anyway) then it's likely to be the BA4/5 variant version previously offered widely in the USA not the BA1/2 version many of us were given for the Autumn booster.

I had mine on Sunday and on entry to the centre we were asked if we were 75+ or immunocompromised. I think Sanofi was given to the 75+ group and we were given Pfizer. There were clear reasons given but rather than mis quote I will leave it at that. Individuals were given the opportunity to talk to the supervising Doctor if there were issues with the vaccine they were being given.

Same for me - pfizer for immunosuppressed, Sanofi for over 75s

I went yesterday and had the Sanofi - advised it ‘offered better protection for the elderly and immunosuppressed’

It was at a big centre (Guys) - they were using other vaccines as well I think

I had mine last night - the Pfizer. In the leaflets we were given it said the Sanofi was for over 75s.

The Pfizer has been adapted based on recent covid strains/variations.

So far I’ve had 2 Astra Zenecas, one Moderna and 4 Pfizers. It’s a case of have what is available each time.

No sore arm or reaction to any of them, and (touch wood) I’ve avoided Covid thus far.

I had the Pfizer Cromarty vaccine, which is the same as my 6th vaccine. I have been fine, but did get the usual flare in my symptoms.

Yes, I went to the “Walk-in” centre yesterday for my 7th jab but they said that they had no Pfizer jabs left which they are giving to the Immune suppressed this time, so I have to go back on Thursday. I rang my Pharmacy & they didn’t have any either. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I had Sanofi a week ago as 78 and immunosuppressed.was not told which one until given a leaflet afterwards.had a sore arm for 24 hours and a bit sore hands and wrists,nothing much.have had AstraZeneca,and phizer before and have not had Covid so far so all good!

Pfizer was selected for me at my recent spring booster because of my age (60) and RA. Have had Astra Zenica, Pfizer and Modena previously. No problems with any of them 👍

I had mine last week - no choice offered. I am 67 and was given the Sanofi recombinant one. The nurse said that this was the only one they were using for both immunosuppressed and over 70's.

Such an interesting question. I am over 75 and looking at the replies it appears where a choice is possible ,that Sanofi is being given to the immunocompromised if over 75 and Pfyser if under 75. I cannot find evidence to why this is the case. It might be there but I cannot find it.Sanofi is cheaper but not sure if safer or as effective as it is new and has been tested on a much smaller scale.The statistics so far have reported few serious side effects with Sanofi but I cannot find how it works on the immunocompromised or details of recommendations. Sanofi works in a different way to Pfyser and Moderna.The rules on having antivirals for those on some biologicals have changed to, for the vulnerable with covid. I expect the decision of which vaccines is given in future will also be looked at in more detail as more evidence comes to light. Having mine on Friday so will update you.I like to know why for most things !!!

It looks like the rule is that there is no rule 🤦‍♀️ so much conflicting evidence online and we end up accepting what we are given!

I am 76 and was offered all 3. I chose Pfizer as I am immunosupressed and Moderna is live.

Moderna is not live. It is an mRNA vaccine the same as Phizer

It contains cells form another form of life and I am allergic to some vaccines. That is why speciailists and other medics say I must not have it.

I think you are confusing it with the adenovirus vector vaccines (eg AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson ones) which are still not considered as live vaccines but do have deactivated viruses in. However, there may be another reason medical professionals have told you specifically not to have it. Maybe you are allergic to something in it.

We`ve had our eighth covid jab yesterday. The first seven were Pfizer. Today`s was the Sanofi, the new one for over 75s. For the first time, we`ve had minor pain in the deltoid muscle. We feel privileged to be so treated. Thanks, NHS.

wow. This is my seventh and I thought that was a lot . Had 5 Pfizer and 1 Moderna so far will have to see what’s offered. I’m 67 and immunocomp.
