Am about to start talz (ixekizumab) and injections delivered Tuesday.

I am trying to co-ordinate starting my injections with seeing hospital nurse who wants to see me after. Appointment made with sciensus was initially 5th May but I was also told nurses are working 1st May but couldn't commit as didn't know what doing on the bank holiday.

I would be interested to hear if anyone else is with this company. It takes forever to get through - min 15 mins. All I want to do is change the nurse appointment. I have phoned then three times in the last week, been promised a call back and still waiting, even though the customer service people told me that he couldn't understand why I hadn't heard anything as emails had been sent to whichever department. Tried downloading their app no success so far and their live chat is not operating.

I was with Calea homecare for idacio injections until recently (they didn't work) and had no problems with the at all. But I am very worried about starting with this company if this is the kind of service they provide.

Sorry about the long post. I do follow the group but don't participate much as suffering the long covid fatigue and brain fog on top of everything else - APS, fibromyalgia, and now diabetes.

At the moment Sciensus aren’t a problem to me but I’ve had all sorts of issues in the past when they were called Healthcare at Home. Years ago I phoned to get my delivery sorted out and the recorded message said .. you are 47th in the queue. I didn’t wait! They have a better system now for contacting you via text and I use an App which seems to be ok at present 🙏🏻. It took me a few times to download it successfully as their online form wouldn’t let me proceed. I have always had a long wait trying to speak to them on the phone. I also have to phone a second meds delivery company each month and it took me 3 weeks initially last summer to get through to them. Yes, agree it can be very tiring and exhausting constantly chasing meds and medical people on the phone. 😑 Hope you can sort it out.

Thanks. Helpful to know I'm not the only one. It is so frustrating when you are told someone will call you and they don't. Hopefully the nurse when she comes to show me how to do the injections will give me better contact details.

Like you say their text message service is good for the delivery. Going to see if my husband can get me onto the app.

Not been a great week - diabetic diagnosis on Tuesday so waiting for appointment at the clinic. My mother had numerous medical conditions but mine are eclipsing hers by miles! Hope you're doing ok.

Just keep plodding on doing all you can to sort your health issues out .. bite sized chunks and a few things each day rather than attacking it all at once is the way that works for me. I hope you get Sciensus behaving themselves soon and then that’s one less hassle. Yes I’m doing alright thanks, but a lot of medical things to currently chase/juggle.

Be kind to yourself whenever you can and do something pleasurable to relax if possible. It helps you get ready for the next lot of calls of emails, etc. Yes, see if your hubby can fathom the App. Sometimes we can get fed up of trying and miss something, but more likely it was a glitch for you as it wasn’t anything I was doing wrong at first. Good luck and let us know how you get on. x

Meant to say, I was told the nurses don’t work from the same place or phone number as the admin/phone staff so once you’ve seen a nurse to oversee your injection you don’t have contact with them again as such. If you need to speak to a manager the admins email them to get them to call you back the next day and the managers work in a different location too. 😑

I ring Sciencus first thing in the morning ,I seem to have shorter wait then

Apart from cutting down the tedious wait for an answer my 3 calls have got me nowhere, so will try email and see what happens.

if I need to call them I phone spot on 8 in the morning and normally get through straight away. I sit there with their number up on my phone, phone in my hand and as soon as it's says 8 I press to dial.

I am going to try an email as phoning has got me nowhere. It is disgraceful service. But if that doesn't work I shall make a complaint - haven't even had my first injection yet!

Have you thought of contacting the CQC? I was having problems with a private company and contacted the CQC and they sorted it out within a week, not just for me but they made the company change their procedures for the whole of England. So it s worth letting CQC know, they have teeth!

Thank you. I may well do that if I get nowhere. My prescriptions are from the rheumatology clinic so I will see if the nurse can help.

Once you see a nurse she should give you his/her direct number to call which makes things easier. I downloaded the app and that helps organise delivery of medication etc. Not sure if there is an ask a question option but maybe worth trying again?

That's helpful to know, thank you.

I am with Sciencus and have been for a couple of months. With regards to the app i couldn't download it until i had been seen by the second nurse to assess me giving my own injection. There was a lot of "faffing" around to start with getting the date for the first injection. I stopped them emailing and texting as i have the app and was getting confused when my delivery would be as they all said different days, i find it easier just using the app.

Looks as if I should be able to download but having problems with setting a password. Going to leave it a day or two and try again. Got my first lot if injections and know how to administer them as I sometimes need to inject heparin (blood thinner) but appreciate that the nurse has to be there in case of allergic reaction.
