Covid finally got me

I've managed to avoid covid for 3 years, I think due to being extremely careful and having 6 vaccines. Hubby and I have only had some 2 or 3 day breaks to Dumfries, North Yorks, Morpeth and Durham since November 2021.He was away down to mid Wales at a fishing competition last week and came home on Friday feeling miserable, coughing and sneezing, and tested strongly positive.

He went straight to spare room, I sanitised anywhere he'd touched or been and left his drinks, food and medicines on a tray at the door and retreated.

He had to leave the room to go to the bathroom along the hall but I always wore a mask when upstairs until in my room, as did he.

He has started to feel better since last night although still got a strong positive test this morning and as I had a bit of a cough and sore throat I decided to test ( tested Sat, Sun and negative). The test showed a faint line although it took almost the full 15 minutes to show.

I have reported it and got a text from NHS Scotland with a reference number and a link to

Feeling pretty grotty at the moment stbernhard, but so far like a very bad cold. Mostly headache, sinus pain and nasty cough. Xx

Hi me too bad to go into hosp for a bug in my lung and after 5 th day on intravenous drip i tested positive for covid after 3 years avoiding this i could have cried so angry and I still feel deal tbh and I was in for 16 days what a horrid time but it's still out there even after all my vaccines ,so all the best hope your doing well now 💜💜

Hope you are recovering Zephre. Hubby has been worse than me and he is pretty fit for a 69 year old. I feel absolutely miserable but am throwing everything at it and trying to rest. It's the incessant painful coughing that the worse. Who knows how much worse we'd be without the vaccines though, eh? 🤗
