I just have a quick question. I have been having a painful bout with neuropathy in my feet and this may be unrelated. the skin is cracking between toes and foot.
After my shower yesterday, dried off and then went to use some body oil. My arms and legs seemed to be sloughing skin off with the oil. It all felt sort of crumbly.
I exfoliate 3 out 4 times while showering
Anyone ever have this experience? It felt yucky lol
Have a lovely day. 🌹

I too suffer peripheral neuropathy caused by meds and RA it very common I’m told . Gp should be able to help. Yep dry skin is a nightmare.. is it drugs or the disease or a combination of both 🤷🏽♀️ who knows. from my Gp of I got a giant tub hydromel that can be used as a cream or a soap. It’s like Vaseline but much better. When I take off my tights or trousers it looks like it snowed . Very attractive 😁
Snap! I wear black compression socks . . . I have to turn them inside out and give them a bash outside . . . delightful add-on to the rest of the 'issues' that come with RD.
Stop exfoliating and start using a good moisturising shower cream and then push cream into skin. Dry skin is awful and you need to soften it without abrasion. I’d suggest Aveeno or Clinique as the one my GP prescribed was too greasy and turned the shower into a slippery slid and I fell and broke my leg.
If you mean you use cosmetic exfoliation for 3/4 of your showers I would stop immediately…..nobody needs to exfoliate that much….it’s no wonder your skin is sloughing off!
I have neuropathy in my feet..but have never been advised that exfoliating would help.
Try stopping using soap…use something like Epaderm which you can use instead of soap ,& as an after shower moisture cream. Or ask your rheumy nurse what lotion she recommends for your skin,
Hi I had this during COVID. I ended up with a rash all over my feet. It was like tiny blisters and splitting skin. It was so painful. I had an appointment at dermatology for recurring abceses I have have attended this clinic for years. I asked about my feet while I was there and she took a scraping of skin and prescribed terbinafine cream within 1 week my rash had gone. I had numerous creams from my GP but they were prescribed by phone.Hope this helps you 🥰
Stop using exfoliation , I use simply shampoo on my hair then put some on a sponge when I shower, I used BP cream 4 pounds a tub from the chemist, skins supple and no dryness
Much sympathy for you. My skin is so dry, it has been for years and pre-dates RD, it's like full body dandruff. Aveeno products are good, as are all others already mentioned. If you're feeling flush or have a birthday coming up, Elemis shower cream and velvet body butter are amazing.
