Another gentle reminder, be positive be supportive

Dear All,

Following on from my post yesterday, I am having to reiterate that we all need to be mindful of the language and tone we use on this site.

This is a community that is here to support each other.

I have again taken the decision to remove some posts, and will if required remove people from the site.

Thank you for your understanding and lets really try to foster the positive support for each other going forward.

Hope you all have a great day

Kind Regards

Tim

Tim, when I used to teach seven year olds I had a class rule when children were sharing their own news that if you couldn’t say anything nice to contribute to the discussion afterwards then it was better not to say anything at all.

It is sad that you have had to say this as this group has always been a wonderful supportive community and I think people should bear in mind that if what you have to say isn’t likely to help or offer support then it’s better not to say it at all.

Yes, here’s to supporting our friends/members on the board and here’s to ignoring the negative vibes. 💗🥰 Hopefully there’ll be less of those. I think if someone is being attacked/accused by an unfair comment then the person on the receiving end should politely reply to say that’s not true, but then we are engaging with them and that’s why they’ve stopped by. Negative people/negativity zap your immune system and I’m not prepared to let them further deplete mine! Hope you are well. xx

I’m ok thanks - a good layer of Volterol and a hot water bottle has sorted out the nerve pain and that awful coughing bug that’s not covid seems to have moved on too. Shame it’s going to be wet and horrible for the week though. I see you’ve finally got -rid -of -that-annoying-fault, bet you’re glad about that. 😉

I’m glad I didn’t need to hyphen anything this ladg eeek as they space bar wasn’t peeling in this forum for me in my phone! Argh. Also I can’t open PM. I seem sometimes to be able to send them though. Glad you seem to be improved 💗 and hope you are steady and it stops raining where you are. It’s dry here for now. Few days not raining.

I still can’t open the majority of private messages atm so my apologies to anyone who sent one and didn’t get a reply.

I agree with you if you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all. Thank you Tim for caring about us that abide by the rules.xxx

Thank you for putting your message out. I have not put any messages on for a while due to comments that were on here at times.

Hope your RA is behaving. 🙏🏻 I’m slowly on the road to recovering my immune and the meds I started in September has had a stop start due to pausing for vaccines but hopefully things are improving even if slow. X

it's strange as my RA had been good for ages, just little niggles, then in Sept I was very ill with bowl problems, had loads of different tests as drs thought it was bowel cancer, thankfully it was not, but for the past few weeks my RA has been unsettled and I now have back and shoulder pain 🙄 pilates is helping it, hay hum i'I'll get there. That's very good that your immune system seems to be settling down and the medication is slowly working for you, you realise how bad you felt when you start to feel better again. Look after yourself, slowly slowly your get there. Xx

Hi, I’m so glad it wasn’t as serious as you thought but how stressful for you. 💗 Sometimes RA and the meds can make your stomach really unsettled. I do hope your shoulder and back calm down. I never went downhill with the RA .. not at all .. I was lucky there so didn’t feel bad with my joints. 🙏🏻 It’s been the side effects of the immunosuppression which were/are the issue. 🤨 Hope the Pilates continues to help you. xx

what issues do you get from the side effects? That must be annoying. Shoulder a bit sore this morning, but yes thanks the pilates did do it good last night, I will keep go8ng each week and hope it helps it 😊 have a lovely day. Xx

My immune was/is severely depleted by Rituximab causing hypogammaglobulinemia (low antibodies) resulting in chronic bronchitis. Changed med in September 22. Hope your shoulder gets stringer each session. Enjoy the rest of your day too. xx

I’ve had it for 5 years since my Ig’s went low. It’s a bit complicated but it isn’t an infection as such. Have a good weekend and pace yourself with the shoulder. xx

Such a shame you have had to do this Tim. I have always found this site very supportive, uplifting and friendly. Much needed since the covid pandemic and afterwards.

You've obviously done a good job in removing these posts as I didn't see any that I objected to. It seems that a lot of people use social media to take out their frustrations with life in an unpleasant way.

Sadly that’s the truth. Usually if they’ve no one to do it to in real life they find a forum online. x

It is a sad fact of life that trolls exist but freedom of speech is also important and I for one think that being positive can be seen as not sympathetic which is not always helpful. However politeness is important and as long as it is a view that I although may disagree with is held sincerely, then I believe it should not be removed. Its about balance and to be honest I think if someone is just being rude or sending PM messages that are rude or offensive it will happen at the weekend and that is when the group needs monitoring. I hope that the trolls just get fed up if no one responds as they are looking for a reaction and get a kick out of being removed to simply rejoin under a different user name.

I've not been around much lately so was unaware there had been disruptive comments. Thank you Tim for this message, though it's shame it was necessary. Hopefully those involved have got the message & that we will return to it's usual friendly & supportive group.
