I hope you're chemo went well and is leading to a positive outcome. My husband has just finished radiotherapy and was on hormone injections and experienced similar although he doesn't have RA it was just a side effect of his cancer treatment. So it might be a number of things of course RA or an effect of the chemo or its associated medications so it was be a really good idea to contact your doctors and discuss what going on. I hope you get some relief soon.

I get very hot, most often overnight, but it can happen during the day too, for no apparent reason. But, I don't have a temperature (I'm not pyrexial).

Before my RA was under control I has a temperature every day, usually from early evening through the night.

I get very hot and sweats bit no actual temperature. I think I read somewhere on here yonks ago that apparently that some RA people have lower temp readings even if burning up and poorly! I will see if i can find that post again though my consultant always says nothing to do with RA but he says that about brain fog too and never had either till I had RA!

I can feel hot with red cheeks and forehead and still have a normal temperature. Not meno or recent post meno either. My rheumy said not sure if it was Rtx or RA or Fentanyl patches. I’d say the latter these days and def not Rtx as it’s 22 months since. RA isn’t active at present so I’m blaming F as it can cause some really annoying overheating as can many opiates. I can sometimes overheat with the minimum of exertion.

I thought brain fog was a recognised symptom of RA due to inflammation affecting the brain? It certainly appears in almost all the articles about it.

When I am in a bad flare it starts early evening. Feel very cold no matter the air temperature (sure sign of a temperature with me). As Potatoes said, lasts all night. This has happened during 2 extended flares and generally my temperature is 38.5 C when normally 36.8 C. Not fun so I wish you luck and hope that they can stabilise you.

If you mean you are getting a higher temperatures than the 36/37°c that is usually regarded as normal- I don’t think having RA alone necessarily causes that. Everyone’s ‘normal’ temp is different….eg my norm is 32/33°c……even when I first had Covid & felt I was burning up it only reached 36.8°c.

Why don’t you have a word with your medical team & see if you need to start/restart some RA medication?

Hi yes my temperature fluctuates throughout the day. That's the thing with RA, there is no happy medium, you can be either boiling hot or freezing cold but no temperature.

hi, similar to lots of people here, I get very hot and sweat, usually at night, but don’t have a temperature. I would add, however, that my joints get warm during a flare so I feel like a radiator! 😂
