Room temperature Cimzia

I'm suppose to take my cimzia injections tomorrow. My husband and I have travelled to Scotland today and my syringes did not stay cool enough despite a cool bag and ice packs. Will they still be ok to take tomorrow morning? It will be less than. 24 hours

Who do you get your Cimzia from? I used to get things from Healthcare at Home and there was a specialised pharmacist you could phone with queries. Always best to check with an expert.

I did find this from royal pharmacological society - see p5 says you have 24 hours if not above 25*, but much better if you could get advice from your hospital or supplier.

I've been told that it'll be fine as long as you didn't put it back in the fridge when you got there :)

Yes, I believe so, I spoke to the pharmacist at Healthcare at home about it when I was planning to travel with it & they told me that they can be out of a cool environment for 24 hours.

As long as it doesn't go above 25 degrees c and is used soon you are ok. I have travelled alot. I Spoke to the pharmacist first. I have found the best way is a cold box with ice lasts a longer than packs. Use zip lock bags and have spare with you. You'll found its easy to get ice. Even managed to over night without a fridge.

I agree with Helixhelix, Give Hah a ring if they are your suppliers. I was told 24hours max out of the fridge, i would imagine it would stayed cool in your cool bag, despite not being at the correct temp and if it was less than the 24hours.

But give them a ring to be on the safe side, I have always found them very helpful.

Thanks everyone for the reassurance :) messaged my nurse and she said it should be fine. It was less than 24 hours. At least now I know that a cool bag isn't effective. I might invest in a car fridge

For future travel plans it may be worth looking at the products from Medactiv.

I have the iCool Prestige and am thinking of getting the MediCube as we live in the North of Scotland and if we are going on holiday it is usually better to have an overnight in Edinburgh or Glasgow on the way out. It is a 4 hour by road to either airport plus an hour to park and 2 hour check in time (7 hours, any major accidents on the A9 can also lead to further long delays). It is always likely to be over 24 hours door to door so the Prestige is marginal for my needs.

I am on Cimzia and was told I can take it a day before or a day late and it was ok.
