Does paracetamol lower temperature in a healthy person?

I am having investigations into what is causing pain and gastrointestinal problems, and as I have been taking paracetamol regularly to help with pain, I would like to try and find out if paracetamol lowers temperature in a healthy person. When I feel as if I have a temperature, my temp regularly reads low at around 36.2°c.

If anyone has knowledge of this, sharing it will be really useful to me.

Thanks!

No it does not. It is an anti-pyretic, = anti-fever - drug, stopping the process that causes fever. it does not slow down the metabolism of a healthy person.

My body temperature is always on the low side 36.4°c. I don’t know why. Even when I feel I have a bit of a fever when I check it, it is still low...

Similar here, I can feel very hot yet my temp is often normal. I take my ear temp using a digital thermometer which is meant to be accurate, but give me a mercury thermometer any day !

Your thyroid regulates body temp. Low body temp also tells you that your cellular respiration and energy production is not optimal. Always an idea to check thyroids, the whole panel not just TSH.

Thanks! This could be very helpful to me! 😀

I've just written about this in a post. My body temp has often been 35.5.

Goodness that is low, has anyone given you an explanation for why your temp coukd be so low ? Do you feel hot when yiur temp is low ?

in reply toMmrr

Yes I feel hot. I've told docs and no one seems the slightest bit interested. my temp was 36 when I arrived at docs the other day after rushing. It's low upon waking.

This morning was first time I woke up with bog standard normal core temp. See my post.

Don't worry about it Paul, I'm in kinda the same boat. 4 cats, they don't want to know me today. They get stressed when we don't feel good...I know this from recent experience. It's been a rare day that I get anything right lately! Man, I hope you get some relief soon... :-S (worried)
