Your consultant will know but double check they will advise.
Pharmacists can answer questions like this. Sometimes they know a lot more about drug interactions than consultants do.
Warferin is rarely used now as the new generation of blood medications don't need all the faff of Warerfin. I take Riveroxaban and Abatercept and its not an issue same for Apixaban just take and forget it.
Thank you thsts good news. I think I was given warfrin rather than the new blood thinners as warfrin is less problematic for the stomach. I have Atropic Gastritis x
Thats bad luck ! I don't need blood tests and been taking it for about 6 years now. I never went on Warferin and was put on Riveroxaban when it was new and my name went to the approval board. I'm glad to say it works really well for me and it doesn't thin the blood but stops it being so sticky by working on Prostaglandin. I hope you get on with Waferin too.
I had unprovoked PE's and a DVT probably related to RA so lifelong Riveroxaban. And I thank my lucky stars it works so well with no side effects. x
Warfarin doesn't come up on the NICE abatacept interaction checker. Have you been advised it may or are you blind checking? As has been said if your Rheumy hasn't connected the 2 your local Pharmacist will be able to tell you.
Thanks for answering. I had a knee replacement in February. I got a PE and was on warfrin for 6 months. But believe it is not I can't remember if my Abatacept was withdrawn while ivwS on it. There is some talk from GP that I'd be best on wafrin long term. I don't see a rheumatologist for another month so just thought I'd do a bit of investigating. I suppose in the end one department will speak to the other I really hope so. Thanks xx
