I have a cough that comes just once a day in the morning and lasts about 1 hour. it’s very severe and deep in my chest. I have a little activity on the RA front also at the moment so concerned it’s affecting my lungs. Mild scarring was found on my lungs in the past pre diagnosis last year and I’m due a repeat scan in January to follow up on this. It wasn’t linked to RA at all. I was told I probably had pneumonia before (I didn’t !)
I did have an upper respiratory tract infection a few weeks ago so possibly a post viral cough but it’s the severity of it that is alarming me.
Any thoughts folks or has anyone experienced something similar ?
Many thanks in advance 😊

I have a gurgling / wheeze like sound in the back of my throat when my disease activity is high. Sometimes with a mild cough. When I'm 'better' it isn't there.
I've reported it to my GP and rheumatologist, no one seems interested.
What type of cough is it? I get a very rough, dry cough in the mornings if I forget to use my xylimelts at night to counteract my dry mouth. Could this by your problem? If t isn't a dry cough, then i think you need to speak to your medical team
you need to go to Dr and get chest X-ray. The chest cavity can be affected with RA. Also you need to stay on top of it especially if you are on biologic s.
