A lot of people do find this one can be a life changer! One of the earliest biologics, and a good one.
Sulfasalazine, leflunomide and methotrexate didn't agree with me. After 5 years of poor quality of life, I began Amgevita, a biosimilar of humira, in late May this year. I felt a positive difference in just 3 hours and it has changed my life for the good. Good luck with everything on your journey.
I was on methotrexate and sulfasalazine when Humira was added into the mix. It has worked superbly. I was taken off the sulfasalazine first and have halved my methotrexate to 10mg weekly. That was in 2006, I have been stable ever since. I was switched to the biosimilar to Humira, Amgevita, a couple of years ago. Hope it goes well for you.
Why did you swap? I refused and stayed on humira. It has to be agreed under nice guidelines plus £70 per month saving wasn't worth risking my health after the research I did x
I was happy to give it a try. I was assured I could swop back if it didn't work out. I find the Amgevita just as good, possibly a little better, and less painful.
I was on sulphasalazine mtx and hydroxychloroquine for 15 years, stopped working so changed to Humira and mtx 8 years ago. Been brilliant. Are they talking about actual Humira or one of the biosimilars of it. X
I was put on humira and sulfasalazine and they worked well for nine years. Now on baricitinib because humira stopped working after shingles.
