after a knee replacement in February I ended up with a PE. I was on fragmen injectionsfor about 6 weeks then went on to warfrin tablets. Suddenly my pain levels joint and muscles are extremely painful and swolen even a steriod injection didn't help which has never happened before. Could there be a connection

Fragmin is a solution for injection and it belongs to a group of medicines called low molecular weight heparins (LMWH) or antithrombotics. These medicines help prevent the formation of blood clots by thinning the blood. ( For clarification)

I've been on Riveroxaban since 2018 after PE's and just wondered why have you been prescribed Warferin as I thought being used less and less as the newer ones Riveroxaban and Apixaban are much better with less risk, no monitoring and no diet restrictions.

Yes you are correct but as I suffer from chronic gastritis it was decided against the newer ones as they can be harsher on your stomach than warfrin. This decision was made after consultation with my gastroenterology consultant. I'm on wafrin until the 6th September I guess I'll have to put up with it till then that is if indeed it us the warfrin causing this very painful flare up.
