I am presently experiencing an increase in joint pain and have been prescribed naproxen. I have used it before very effectively but seem to remember the pharmacist’s label saying not to take it on methotrexate day. The label this time says nothing about this.
Anyone know if they’re able to be taken on the same day?
Thanks.

Hello I had naproxin from time to time but l am not supposed to have any because l have a pacemaker. But just tp control my inflammation the doctor prescribes this. I don't seem to have no problem taking this on MTX days. Good luck.
I have RA and recently suffered from pelvic fractures for which my rheumatologist prescribed Naproxen for pain .
I always read the paper insert on any new medication and I go online to read about any bad side effects . I also assume the rheumatologist knows what he is doing when prescribing a new med as he has access to all my medication .
Naproxen is contraindicated if you take MTX but then so are a lot of other medicines. I take lansoprazole , any way , to protect my stomach from all the medication I down in a day/week .
What I did read though was the consistent warning of possible heart attacks and/or strokes when taking Naproxen - even without any warning . I know my rheumatologist didn't want me to stay on it long term . Possibly because I'm elderly - 80 .
So I'm having to taper off now just after a month of taking it . It's a great shame because it was like a 'magic pill' for me . Not only helping the pain from the pelvic fractures but also the pain and discomfort from RA .
The scientist who devises a pain killer pill without the concomitant side effects should get a Nobel Prize . Here's hoping .
You will get different answers from different medics . My pharmacist said no not taken on MTX day but clinic were not really bothered one way or another 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
