Off message….sandals

For anybody still looking for summer shoes/sandals…..I just got a flier from Cotton Traders..never tried their footwear…..but they actually have a size chart & do 3 different widths…& some pretty nice looking shoes 🩴🥿👠👟

Their returns are free too….they have shops like Tesco One Stop where you can just drop them off …to a human being….no messing about with mobile phones & lockers that won’t stay shut!

Shoes…. Don’t mention them, since my leg injury (not illness related) I’ve only been able to wear my two pairs of slip in 3cm wedge Reikers. But I have my first podiatrist appointment this week for the arthritis in the big toe joints which did contribute to the injury but not cause it. I’m very excited about this as I’m hoping it means I’ll be able to wear different shoes 🤨

A pair to match each of your handbags, eh, AC? I'm grinning as I write! It's great that you can drop Cotton Trader returns off locally. Sometimes I'm put off buying things online because of the high cost of returns.

Don’t remind me…You may well smile….I have bought see through shoe boxes for both the bags & the shoes…..it looks like Clark’s window in my cupboard! But the sad truth is I shall probably wear the same trainers …..I hear it’s OK to wear “plimsolls” to any occasion these days ……& use the same bag all summer! Oh I do miss dressing up!

It is a shame that these days we don't have much call to put on our glad rags! Mind you, I have to admit that shoes that I've bought for special occasions rest quitely in their boxes and will probably never see the light of day again...but....I live in hope! I absolutely loathe shopping for footwear! My feet don't match! Keep on smiling...it keeps us sane! 🙂

I went out the other evening…..I wore jeans with”proper” shoes & a nice silk shirt….it was only a pub meal….but I felt over dressed. Maybe I’m too ageist….but I think it might be alright for youngsters to dress like tramps..but I “I’m a grown up!” & I want to look nice!

Good for you AC. It really amuses me to see the jeans that youngsters wear these days...we would have thrown them in the bin! They actually pay for tears in their tights! I remember the days of stocking with seams and the dreaded ladders! Think...if we'd kept those old tatty things instead of throwing them away we'd be making a fortune selling them on Ebay! 😅

I did buy a pair of trainers from Cotton Traders a few years ago. They were comfortable and I liked them but the quality wasn’t good. There were holes in them very quickly so I’m not buying any more.

If they were comfortable and cheap as chips…I’d settle for short term comfort! I just thought they looked pretty summer sandals for around£30,

I love my KEEN sandals, they are so comfy and well made. I have wide feet and wonky toes so find it hard to get comfy footwear. They might be more expensive than cotton traders but they last forever.

Yes……CT are about 1/3 the price of KEEN sandals….so as we usually only seem to wear sandals for maybe a couple if weeks here & maybe a couple more on hols …I thought they might be worth a try?

This is just what I was going to ask on here also, following a visit to get measured for new insoles recently as the last pair I was 'advised/told' to wear were absolutely no support (blue rubber) I was then told to throw the shoes I was wearing away when I got home - didn't of course. I have now been passed to the Rheumatology podiatrist to sort me out with new insoles and told to wear lace up shoes only can anyone recommend lace up sandals for the summer!

If you Google ‘cotton traders summer sandals’ it comes up with all their 60+ styles…I’m afraid there are no lace ups ….but there are plenty that look summery & are a bit more substantial than flip flops……personally when I’m abroad I like a summer shoe rather than a sandal….I don’t like my toes touching the ground over the edge of sandals

You can also see a list of where they have shops….so you could have a look at the quality & not rely on buying on line……also it says 10% off first orders.

PS: I really am not on commission from CT!

Thank you I will have a look, podiatrist has very good intentions and means well but sometimes forget we are still who we were before RD and its 'gifts'

I love Hey Dudes as they weigh absolutely nothing and, Butterfly Twists as they’re so pretty and often have offers on too.
