Stills is a rare AI illness which manifests as fever, joint pain, stiffness, rash, swelling.... many of you may have experienced similar? Other associated AI afflictions such as Lichen Sclerosis and Interstitial Cystitis are present. Mild Raynaud's and Sjogrens also suspected. The herald is a very sore red throat with yellow patches and sore tongue extending to ear ache. Any RD sufferers know of a treatment for the throat. I’ve been drug free for nearly 40 years except pain relief and NSAIDs using compression and splints to support knees and wrists and generally live an adapted life that manages with Stills but the throat is wearing me down. All suggestions welcome.

Constant sore throat with Stills Disease
I've used chloroseptic throat spray - available over the counter to buy. It contains an anaesthetic so makes it more comfortable. It does sound to me, though, that you would benefit from some more targetted medication for your many conditions. When did you last see a rheumatologist? Should you consider the more recent medications available?
I’ve not seen anyone about Stills Disease since my mid 20s when I tapered off steroids etc, this was about 1983/4. I was lucky in that I had just the one episode but after 40 odd years I recognise I need some medication now as the daily grind of living with joint pain etc gets harder. The thought of starting the process with a GP though puts me off, if I could just get a referral to a rheum who understands Stills that would be great but it’s rare and when I read on HU how difficult it is to get the right treatment for all rheumy associated conditions like RA, PMR, GCA and Lupus I just stick to pain relief. I was Just 17 when I was diagnosed and my Mum took me to all appointments 😀 Thank you for your response and I’ll try that for my throat.
