Hi! I’m on Bari. Getting on for 3 years. No bp problems. Ibuprofen on the other hand….only have to smell it and bp goes up. 🥴😂

My blood pressure was fine but my liver function was sky high so had to stop it.

Husband on Baricitinib. Caused raised cholesterol but not BP. Hope it settles for you if it's otherwise good.

Yes I did and due to my hypertension and previous TIA became worried, I've since discovered that large studies in the US the FDA has issued a black box warning for blood clots and cancer. My Rhumi seemed completely unaware!

I raised this with my consultant. He and I discussed other options but Baritcitnib is the only one that has done some kind of work on me. He and I discussed how he saw it with any drug. Disease vs Meds vs Side Effects vs Outcome. He felt he had given me the tools and I made the decision to carry on.

My BP was always controlled prior to RA diagnosis and I do find it reacts to certain meds badly. I would let your GP and RA team know as on some of the meds I have had to come off if too high for too long a period. I have a BP checker at home so check 3 times a day just so I can keep an eye on it.

I am surprised about the ibuprofen I have had it daily for 30 years and my BP was always ok until the last 3 or 4 years but recently my oesophagus was ulcerated so I have had to drop it very low. I have been on Baricitinib for 2.5 years and my BP has been high and I am on meds but Im not sure that the barixitinib caused it I think it was gradual and quite alot to do with my hugely reduced excerice and walking in the last 3 years though perhaps the ibuprofen doesn't help either. I have noticed my cholestrol is higher though and that is listed as a side effect but at least my good cholestrol is higher than the bad cholestrol so hopefully its ok!

Good morning reg01,

I was on Olumiant (baricitinib) for 3 years (2018-2021) and never had any problems with my blood pressure - if anything, it's too low 😅 Hope this helps.

I was on baricitinib for a very brief period. Blew up like a balloon…didn’t check my BP but had to stop it right away due to significant oedema.
