Hi, a lot of people here have osteo arthritis as a result of their rheumatoid so there will be common areas of interest and advice, etc. I’m not sure of there is a specific HU page for your type to advise/help too, but I’d say you’re very welcome here.

Hiya jaybirdxNHM, welcome to the NRAS community. I’d say a definite yes. I have OA secondary to RD, diagnosed together. Whilst it's primarily a site for RD & other autoimmune joint conditions many here have OA too so I'm sure you'll have support from us & experiences to share too.

My OA affects mainly my hands, neck & back but it is well medicated so really only my hands remain a problem as I’ve no cartilage so bone on bone. Heberden's nodes too, & a new lump that's appeared on my left thumb which has yet to be diagnosed! Resisting ops until it becomes less bearable. In fact just bought some compression gloves last Saturday which seem to be helping.

I hope you enjoy being here.

Which ones did you buy nmh? My thumb on my left hand has a large swelling/hard lump & it’s killing me

Pic below. I haven't had any before so chose some low in price just in case I couldn’t get on with them. I've worn them round the house, driven & shopped in them & find them ok. In fact the grippy dots have helped generally though this wasn’t the primary reason for buying them. Bought on Sunday not Saturday as said above duh!

Compression gloves, Amazon

I have those for indoors, and more robust ones for going out. Stick and shopping needs a stronger fabric. Will search for supplier and post it I find them invaluable.

Thanks jaybird. I think I will be upgrading them at some time as they seem to be helping so the supplier name would be handy (pun absolutely intended!). 😉

This is the ink to the gloves that I bought about 3 yrs ago. Still going strong

I hope this is ok to post.

Sorry Jaybird, only alerted to your reply when someone liked my question. Thank you so much for the link, they look good. I’ll bookmark it so when (if) the ones I just bought bite the dust I’ll have it to hand. Thanks again.

It's ok to post links when associated with RD etc
