I've not been around much recently, which as you can imagine means things have been going much better (thank you, Adalimumab). As of this week I FINALLY managed to get off of prednisolone, hooray!
I had verrry little guidance on tapering from my rheumatologist, but I found this site which has a very slow tapering plan on it which I followed to the letter (plus other interesting and useful information). It worked like a dream, and I didn't feel any ill effects at all. Thought someone might find it useful...
Thanks for the link - it's possible that I might be able to try again to reduce with the addition once on new treatment. Previous attempts have failed and this would be my fourth attempt.
Thank you for posting the link. That's very helpful advice. I've managed to get off Prednisolone after 3 years but I've saved a copy in case I should ever need it in the future.
Thanks for this, saves me looking. It is very clear plan. I’ve recently had my maintenance dose pred temporarily increased & given a very fuzzy tapering plan in a rushed manner, & which I think is too sudden, so have bookmarked this & will refer to it when the time comes.
Thank you so much for that. I have remembered to save it this time. I have managed in the past to reduce my prednisolone, using this method. It worked very well for me. I tried to follow my rheumatologist advice but the reduction was far to quick and caused me to suffer lots of withdrawal pains unnecessarily.
