I saw a consultant (it was quicker than the GP) in June and had a minor procedure a sigmoidoscopy. All was well for a while but the problem has reoccured today so I rang the clinic and can see the consultant on the 1 November? I'm sure they said it was 2021 but am in shock. And then today a letter arrived from Rheumy an appointment on the 17 November. I am reeling as didn't ask for it and nothing wrong so am minded perhaps to say use it for someone who needs it, as my RA is just fine at the moment and don't need anything apart from a blood pressure check as the GP who is rumoured to still exist doesn't do them anymore. We do have a machine but that is beside the point. Are things now catching up ? I don't know but will ring again tomorrow to make sure its 1 November as in next week not next year. lol
I am amazed !: I saw a consultant (it was quicker than... - NRAS
I am amazed !
Do let us know how you get on. I've been amazed at the quality of care I have had during the pandemic, better than pre pandemic.
They can do a very small procedure with botox and I've really been silly and put it off. So now will agree and it cures a minor issue. I agree I've been really shocked how quickly things are being done. My husband has a small bit of non malignant cancer on his nose its been treated so quickly and next week he goes for its removal after the biopsy last week. He's going to East Grinstead where the RAF used send burnt aircrew. Its a lovely hospital with such beautiful grounds and the areas all are named after planes. Here the NHS has bought back some of the almost defunct cottage type of hospitals so much better than the major trauma hospital for minor stuff. I really hope they continue to use them as the hospital I'm going to is like a hospital on Call the Midwife. And to be frank its clean and the nurses are lovely and talk to people as not so rushed as the bigger hospital and parking is free. lol
That's all great - make the most of it!
So glad you have got a quick appointment. I suppose appointment waiting times differ from town to town. It seems you are one of the lucky ones.
Your lucky i can't see my rheumy until the 15th of November and i have been ringing them for weeks to try and get someone to look at me.xxxx
I can’t complain about my hospital treatment at all. I have seen my rheumatologist twice in 10 months, with another two appointments booked. Since August I’ve had an two telephone consultations with a bowel cancer consultant, an endoscopy, two different liver scans and a nuclear bone scan! No f2f appointments with my gp!
Very happy for you to hear that you have RA under control. Keep it there!xxx
It's the same here we're rumoured to have GP's but no one has seen one and surely now they can control risks but good news people can now ring in its not all Econsult. I'm just so glad as that was dreadful. It made everything so complicated so if you wanted antibiotics for a UTI ? then we need to know everything from your shoe size to do you drink alcohol. Well I didn't but I am now I was tempted to say. It took 25 minutes to fill in a form and then the doctor prescribed one that is clearly on my records I'm allergic too. And another that is not permitted for low kidney function so do they even look at the records before typing out the 'script? It used to be such a good surgery but all the new houses are impacting on services and doctors are leaving as they can't practice medicine in the way they want to and who can blame them. A nurse told me that its going to get worse as they all all fed up too and so overworked and could earn more in the private sector for less work.
