3rd primary vaccine armpit(nodes)pain, anyone?

Hia guys and girls,

I had my 3rd vax two days ago and today woke up with bad pains in my armpit on the side where the Pfizer was jabbed. I've looked it up and it is a side effect for some ppl. Wondered if anyone else noticed it? Also wanted to flag it as some ppl think it's cancer-related and maybe it is but the vax can also be the cause if timing fits. I don't have a lump there but some do and it's meant to abate within 4 weeks.

Should add this is my 1st Pfizer vax, I had AZ the last 2 times and didn't have this happen. I've read that it's a good sign having the lymph node respond like this as it shows the immune is working to recognize a threat.

Edited: PS I do have a large swollen area/lump there now :/

Hi Deminem, a friend also had enlarged lymph nodes in his armpit after the Pfizer vaccine. Ask advice if you’re worried but it does seem to happen with some people. x

You are quite right - it is a good sign that your immune system is working! Unfortunately it's also rather painful for a while...It is much more common to get swollen lymph nodes from infection than from cancer (where it tends to be late sign)!

I had the swollen glands with my first jab. Armpit and under my chin which, I had no idea existed lol. Very sore for about 5 days and then gone! Second jab I just had one sore armpit for 48 hours.

Hello, I had a node on my collar bone after my second Pfizer jab - scared the life out of myself thanks to Doctor Google! Fortunately practice nurse put my mind at rest…

Maybe get a medical opinion? Just to set your mind at rest. It does sound like it's working and it's your immune response kicking in, which I gather is a good thing. Best to check though 😉 good luck

Hia, Thanks for your concern. As of right now I'm not worried at all, which is a good job as getting to see a gp or rhumy is near impossible. The timing is spot on and not a rare side effect of MRNA vaccines. If it persisted I would get on to it.

Oh great 🤔 I am still waiting for my 3rd jab. Like you had AZ last time. I have melanoma and have to check my lymph nodes monthly as part of my after care. If mine swell up I will definitely be in a panic 😪

Sorry to hear of your melanoma, and I can see how it might trigger you if you got this side effect. At least you know now that it could happen, so maybe a little less of a shock if it does.
