I stopped my methotrexate for the time I was self- isolating (tested positive but no Covid symptoms) My RA is well-controlled atm so that was a big factor. I also stopped for the weeks when I had the Covid vaccine and didn’t take it this week as I had my flu jab. Not medically trained so just a personal decision - but no noticeable increase in RA symptoms .
I know so.e drugs like methotrexate and biologics suppress your immune system even more and if you get unwell it is longer to recover.I had to stop my biologic for few weeks when I had shingles .Hope you recover soon
Hi Yes I'd ring 111 for definite advice, but I stop mine and it is a personal decision but it makes sense
I'm on antibiotics at the moment for helibactor pylori gut problem. And I'm not going to take them this week and I am on benapali. And I also give it a miss the week I have my vaccine. Just gives your body a chance to do its work . Xxx hope you feel bette soon
Hi, I do hope you are well. I had covid and just come out of isolation yesterday I take mexothetrate but I rang the rheumatologist department and they advised me to stop it until out of isolation and until feeling better in myself. Everyone is different though so I would just check with yours to make sure. X
When I had covid back in July I was told to stop taking MTX and Leflunomide until two weeks after I was free from covid symptoms, but to leave it slightly longer if I was still feeling under par at that point.
Thank you all for commenting, I did get through to my nurse who advised me to stop till symptoms had cleared and I could get my bloods done again. Thankfully I wasn’t to bad with covid just very tired and wiped out. Once again thank you very much for all your advice xxx
